🎄HOLIDAY NOTICE: Dr. Trejo will be away🎄

Dear Patients,
I wanted to inform you that for the festive season we will be closed December 23 to January 4. During this time, my office will be closed for appointments and I will not be able to be contacted.

To ensure your healthcare needs are met and to avoid any inconvenience or disappointment, I encourage you to schedule your appointments and get your regular prescriptions by December 19.

If you child has an urgent concern or medical emergency please go to the Emergency Room of your choice and if needed they will contact the Paediatrician On-Call.

Dear Patients,

I wanted to inform you that we will be on Holiday from October 11 to October 20.

During this time, the office will be closed, and we won’t be available for appointments. To ensure your healthcare needs are met and to avoid any inconvenience or disappointment, we encourage you to schedule your appointments and get your regular prescriptions before this leave.

Children learn through play and imitation — if the teddy gets a gentle check-up first, the real stethoscope isn’t so scary. And by meeting them at eye level, I’m entering their world, not asking them to adapt to mine.

👶 BURPING 101: Essential Tips for New Parents! 👶
Struggling with burping your little one? Here are three proven techniques that work:

🪑 Sitting Up Method - (shown in the picture above) Sit baby on your lap, lean them slightly forward while supporting their chest and chin with one hand. Pat their back with the other. Perfect for babies with good head control

🤱 Over the Shoulder Method Hold baby upright against your chest, head over your shoulder. Support their bottom and gently pat or rub their back. Great for newborns who need extra support.

🛏️ Across the Lap Method Lay baby face-down across your thighs, head slightly higher than their body. Support their head and neck, then gently pat their back. Works well for fussy babies.

💡 Pro Tips:
* Burp every 60-90 mL during bottle feeding
* Breastfed babies may need burping when switching sides
* Don’t worry if no burp comes - not every feeding requires one
* Keep a burp cloth handy for spit-up
* Be patient and gentle - sometimes it takes a few minutes

Remember: Every baby is different! Try different positions to see what works best for your little one.

The Hepatitis A vaccine (Avaxim 80) is now back in stock! 🎉 This important vaccine can help protect your child from a serious liver infection caused by the Hepatitis A virus — which spreads easily through contaminated food, water, or contact with infected people.

💉 Who should get it?
Children 12 months and older are eligible! This is the perfect time to add this safe and effective vaccine to your child’s protection plan.

👶🏽 Why it matters:
Hepatitis A can cause fever, fatigue, stomach pain, vomiting, and jaundice, and though it’s usually short-term, it can sometimes lead to serious illness—especially in young children. Vaccination is the best way to prevent it.
