BREECH PRESENTATION BY winner's medical home.

Look carefully at the pictures below it shows the delivery of baby coming with the buttocks

BREECH presentation simply means when the baby is sitting in the womb instead of the head being down.

A baby is not considered breech until around 35 or 36 weeks. In normal pregnancies, a baby usually turns head-down to get into position in preparation for birth. It’s normal for babies to be head-down or even sideways before 35 weeks. After that, though, as the baby gets bigger and runs out of room, it becomes harder for the baby to turn and get into the correct position.
Sometimes there is no clear reason why your baby is breech but there are some things that make it more likely, such as:

a low lying placenta
first pregnancy
multiple pregnancy, twins or triplets for example
too little or too much fluid around your baby .
If your midwife or doctor thinks that your baby is still breech at 36 weeks pregnant then you should a have scan to confirm this.

If the scan shows that your baby is breech, the midwife or doctor will talk to you about your options for giving birth safely. They will likely offer you an external cephalic version (ECV, described below). If this does not work, or if you choose not to have one, they will discuss your breech birth options.

Safe delivery to all pregnant mommies and congrts to all TTC
