List of Withdrawn, Suspended and Cancelled products as approved by NAFDAC.

This is to inform the General Public that the following products are approved for withdrawal, suspension and cancellation by NAFDAC. They are therefore no longer permitted for manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use within Nigeria.
Please note that:

1. The Certificate of Registration of a product is said to be withdrawn when the use of the Certificate of Registration of that product is discontinued upon request of the Market Authorisation Holder.

2. The Certificate of Registration of a product may be suspended when the conditions upon which the NAFDAC Registration license was issued are no longer met, and the Agency is to make a determination.

3. The Certificate of Registration of a product is said to be cancelled when the NAFDAC Certificate of Registration license of that product is revoked by NAFDAC.

Sierra Leone is confronting a significant mpox outbreak, with over 1,000 active cases reported nationwide. The Western Urban area, encompassing the capital city Freetown, is the most affected region, accounting for the majority of cases. The outbreak has resulted in 10 confirmed deaths, prompting health authorities to intensify response measures. (Sierraloaded)

In response to the initial cases detected in January 2025, the Sierra Leonean government declared a public health emergency. This declaration facilitated the mobilization of resources and the implementation of containment strategies, including enhanced surveillance and public awareness campaigns.

To bolster the response, Sierra Leone received 61,300 doses of the mpox vaccine through collaborations with international partners such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, Gavi, and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. A nationwide vaccination campaign was launched in March 2025, prioritizing frontline health workers and high-risk populations.

Despite these efforts, challenges persist. Misinformation and fear surrounding mpox have led some individuals to avoid seeking medical assistance, potentially contributing to further transmission.

As Sierra Leone continues to combat the mpox outbreak, health authorities emphasize the importance of public cooperation, adherence to preventive measures, and timely reporting of symptoms to contain the spread of the virus.
