Who made the rules that we live our lives by?

Who decided that we graduate in this number of years, we get married at this time in life and to whom, we must have a certain job, live in a certain house, drive a specific car, all to be considered "successful."

The secret to a happy, successful life has nothing to do with following a timeline that society (whoever they are!) decided should be so, but truly depends on the relationship you have with yourself.

Loving, trusting, and accepting who you are completely and caring deeply for yourself and what you want is the key to fulfillment in life.

So start late.
Stop and begin again all day long.
Be curious and embrace the unknown.
Fall down and get back up many times.
Use the teachings from every experience you have to become the greatest version of you ever!
This will be your success.

Setup a system to write down your ideas — you can filter them later. If pen & paper works best for you, use a journal or a yellow pad of paper (my favorite).

Set aside time on a regular basis to review & prioritize. You should evaluate against your desired results (business plan, passion & lifestyle). You can’t do everything at one time, so the best way to actually finish as many as possible is to focus on 1-2 at a time.

Putting a great idea on hold does not mean that it’s not important!

One of the fastest ways to make progress on an idea is to talk it out. Run your idea by your business coach, mastermind group, trusted advisor, spouse/partner or someone else you trust. They can help you take notes, find the golden nuggets and hold you accountable.

Failing to plan is planning to fail. Pick the 1-2 best ideas and create S.M.A.R.T. goals – specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic & time-bound.

For example, getting paid for Affiliate Marketing requires sharing a solution with someone in need of it and getting paid for referral.

To become an Uber driver, all you need is a valid driver’s license, decent car, non-egregious driving record, and a short online application.

Even side hustles that are more specialized, such as freelance graphic design or web development, can launch within a day or two by creating a profile on Fiverr or other platforms.

At some point in our lives, we’ll question whether we are successful. But what is success, and can you really pave the road to success without knowing what you’re striving for? But the reality is, success means different things to different people...

To be honest, my road to success took too long. I wasted too many years trying to scale my first startup. Thousands 💸 gone on advertising wasn’t useful at all. And just sleepless night trying to figure out what to do.

I want to share 5 Golden Rules so you don’t struggle like I did:

1. Change Your Mindset
Take entrepreneurship, for example. The biggest barrier to success for most business owners is thinking you’re in the business of selling a service or product. You’re not in the business of selling the thing you do, you’re in the business of marketing a service or product. You need to make this shift in your thinking if you want to be successful.

2. Ask for Help
There is no shame in recognizing that you need help. The road to success is not meant to be lonely.

3. Embrace Failure
Don’t be fearful of making mistakes. The truth is, you will fail at some point on your road to success. In fact, you might fail many times. But failure is not an indicator of your capabilities, it’s just another learning experience.
