📌What are the most important nutritional tips for patients with cirrhosis?
⬅️There are some instructions and advice that a liver patient must follow regarding some types of food, such as:
1. Dairy products
-Full-fat dairy products may be difficult for your body to digest, so you can rely on low-fat Greek yogurt, small portions of low-sodium hard cheese, and dairy-free milk alternatives such as almond or soy.
Milk-rich desserts such as pudding, custard, and ice cream should also be limited, and you may need to avoid them completely when following a cirrhosis diet if you have a big problem processing fats and sugar.
2. Cereals
Choose whole-grain bread, pasta, brown rice, and cereals instead of refined white flour. You can also have granola bars and granola bars for quick snacks as long as they are low in sugar and sodium.
3. Protein
Red meat is not approved in the cirrhosis diet, nor is any type of processed lunch meat or sausage, but small portions of lean poultry without the skin, some types of fresh fish such as salmon, and eggs or egg whites may be appropriate. -You can't drink alcohol if you have cirrhosis, but you'll have plenty of other options. Water is the most hydrating option, but if you're on a low-sodium diet you'll want to check the labels on bottled water because some contain sodium.
