RINGWORM
What is ringworm? A highly contagious fungal infection of the skin or scalp.
Symptoms of Ringworm
1;A scaly ring- shape area typically on the buttock,trunk,arm and legs.
2; Itchiness.
3;A clear or scaly area inside the ring, perhaps with a scattering of bumps whose color ranges from red on white skin to reddish , purplish, brown or gray on black and brown skin.
4; Slightly raised, expanding ring.
5;A round flat patch of itchy skin.
6; overlapping ring .
CAUSES
It is caused by parasites that live on the cell in the outer layer of your skin.It can be spread in the following ways
- Human to human; Ringworm often spread by direct ,skin - skin contact with an infected person.
- Animal to human;You can contact ringworm by touching an animal with ringworm. Ringworm can be spread while petting or grooming dogs or cats , it's also fairly common in cows.
- Objects to human;It's possible for ringworm to spread by contact with object or surfaces that an infected person or animal has recently touched or rubbed against ,such as clothing,towels, bedding and linens,combs and brushes.
RISK FACTOR; you're at higher risk of ringworm of the body if you ;
- Live in warm climate .
- Have close contact with an infected person or animal .
- Share clothing , beddings or towels with someone who has a fungal infection.
- Wear tight or restrictive clothing.
- Have a weak immune system.
PREVENTION
- Educate yourself and others
- Keep clean.
- Stay cool and dry .
- Avoid infected animals.
- Don't share personal items
CURE
Garlic;crush two garlic clove .
- Rub them on the ringworm rash several times a day.
- Tumeric; extract the juice from grated raw tumeric root.
- Apply the juice on the ringworm rash three times a day until infection clears .
