We're building capacity to fight malnutrition! 💪

From June 19th to 28th 2024, the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN Ebonyi) hosted a comprehensive training on Maternal, Infant, and Young Children Nutrition. The program brought together about 60 healthcare workers for an intensive session.

The training focused on practical, hands-on methods for managing malnourished children using readily available foods. By empowering healthcare professionals with this knowledge, we are taking a significant step towards combating malnutrition in our communities.

We are proud of all the participants and their commitment to improving child health in Ebonyi State.

We're inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders! ✨

The Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN Ebonyi) recently hosted a career day and familiarization tour for pupils of White Cloud Schools. The two-day event aimed to expose students to the medical environment and spark their interest in the noble field of medicine.

On June 27 2024, the pupils were taken on an exciting tour of the various wards and clinics at AEFUTHA 1 and AEFUTHA 2. The tour continued on June 28, with a visit to NOFIC, giving the students a comprehensive look at different healthcare settings.

It was a joy to see their curiosity and excitement as they got a glimpse into the world of healthcare. We are proud to play a role in shaping the future of medicine in our state.

Our campaign spanned across multiple platforms:

The Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN Ebonyi) played a pivotal role in a landmark public health event: the flag-off of the HPV vaccination program in Ebonyi State.

On May 27, 2024, the First Lady of Ebonyi State officially flagged off the program at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium. The event was a massive success, with approximately 5,000 people in attendance, including men, women, children, members of the State Executive Council, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, and clergymen. Ten members of MWAN Ebonyi were proud to be present for this momentous occasion.

The campaign continued on May 28 with a statewide awareness road walk. Over 2,000 health workers, including MWAN members, took to the streets of Abakaliki to sensitize the public on the importance of HPV vaccination for preventing cervical cancer.

We are honored to collaborate with the state government and community leaders on this life-saving initiative. This is a crucial step towards a healthier future for all.
