LECTURE DELIVERED BY AMBASSADOR NWADIBIA TIMOTHY ON THE TOPIC TITLED (BENEFIT OF ACTION STEPS) TO THE
YOUNG AMBASSADORS INTERNATIONAL CLUB ON THEIR NEW YEAR GATHERING ON 14TH FEBRUARY 2016 AT LION GATE HOTEL SABO YABA LAGOS STATE NIGERIA
Action means something done so as to accomplish a purpose. Step means to Steps is to move mentally or to go on imagination. It can also mean to move foot in walking
Action + Step can be defined as moving mentally or to go on imagination to get something done in order to accomplish a purpose.
I want to share with you a few essential action steps for achieving goals. Instead of writing lengthy explanations, I decide to write something short, and therefore, easier to remember and implement. Before anything let me introduce you to these 10 steps you need to know before taking any step of action.
(1) Be specific about what you what to take. Most people don't know what they want to do with their life, and even after thinking hard, they don't come up with something they really want to do. This is one of the main reasons that in spite of so many books on success, most people live an average life.
(2) Draw up a plan of action. Devote as much time as you need to find a goal or goals, even minor goals are okay. Not everyone really desires great success and is willing to completely change his/her life. Not everyone desires to be a millionaire, or possesses the talent to make money.
After finding a goal that you really desire to achieve, draw up a plan, being as practical as possible.
(3) Make a list of steps. List the steps you need to take, such as signing up for a course, studying, reading, developing the required skills, looking for a job, taking market survey, learning new ideas, learning new business etc, and other steps you need to implement that will take you closer to achieving your goal.
(4) Act, do not be passive. Take action and follow the steps on your list. Don't just wait for things to happen.
(5) Read and listen to advice. Read books or articles about what you want to achieve. Meet people who can help you and listen to their advice, but use your common sense and reason before accepting anything.
(6) Alternative plans. If a certain plan doesn't work, look for an alternative one.
(7) Examine your steps periodically. Some goals aren't worth achieving. Circumstances and people change. Some goals lose their importance. It is a good idea to re-examine your goals regularly and w**d out the worthless ones.
(8) Repeat affirmations. Affirm with faith and feelings that your goal has already been achieved. If you don't undo your affirmations with doubts and lack of belief, they will be accepted by your subconscious mind, which will then provide you with more desire and motivation.
(9) Visualize your goal. Visualization will also affect your subconscious mind, which will keep you motivated, focused on your goal, and more aware of ideas and opportunities.
(10) Take action. Don't just affirm and visualize and do nothing. Take any action required to bring your steps into fruition. Follow your intuition, new ideas and opportunities that present themselves, and accept help from other people.

At your heart and mine lies this one simple principle: Don’t let your circumstances define who you are and what you do.
In other words, don’t place the hope of future success in the hands of some wizard’s wand. Relying on someone or something to save you only brings a sense of victimization that paralyzes your ability to think clearly, creatively and quickly. Instead, take charge of shaping your own circumstances, and good positive game-changing things will begin to happen.
Whether you’re looking to make wholesale changes in your life or just want to fine-tune it a little, here are 10 benefit highlights of action steps that will help you unleash the power of personal accountability to take ownership for your actions steps, decisions, successes and failures.
(1) It Redefines accountability. Does the mere mention of the word accountability make you trembling? The negative (and uninspiring) view of accountability is reinforced in the common dictionary definition: “Subject to having to report, explain or justify; being answerable, responsible.”
Staying true to yourself and your goals should not be drudgery. You must view your accountability as a gift to yourself, a voluntary mindset to ensure success, not something you’re force-feeding yourself even though you hate it.
(2) You think as if your life depended on it. When you shift to a determined, creative mindset, you begin to discover solutions for challenges that you may have believed were out of your control. If your life depended on it, would you come up with a new idea or strategy to save yourself? Absolutely.
The goal you want to achieve or the problem you want to solve probably is not a life-or-death scenario, but many creative solutions come when you put everything on the line. While your life may not be at risk, your happiness and success are.
(3) When you take action steps you control your circumstances, and not your circumstances controlling you. Whether action step takers get off their circumstance on their own or require a little push from somewhere else to get out, the point is that they get out of their circumstances and do something.
4) You have got to want it more than you don’t want it. Everything will exact a certain price from you—energy, effort, patience, resources. It’s natural to want the good things in life without paying the price: You want to lose weight but don’t want to exercise or sacrifice your favorite foods. You want a promotion but don’t want to put in the extra hours. Success comes when you hit a tipping point and begin to desire your goal more than you dread the cost of reaching it.
(5) Gravity will not pull you down. Just as massive planets produce gravity—drawing everything toward them—it seems that tough problems and challenging obstacles have enough mass to pull you away from getting what you want. This force gets bigger and stronger as the challenges get larger and tougher. But with action steps you don’t give up.
(6) Every action step requires a bold knock. Actor Jim Carrey grew up so poor that his family lived in a van after his father lost his job; at one point Carrey slept in a tent on a relative’s grassland. But Carrey believed in his own future and in the things that he wanted to accomplish in his life. As the story goes, one night early in Carrey’s struggling comic career, he drove his beat-up Toyota to the Hollywood Hills and, while overlooking Los Angeles, he pulled out his checkbook and wrote $10 million check for himself. He scribbled in the notation line “For acting services rendered” and stuck it in his wallet. In that moment, Carrey cemented his personal resolve. Over the next five years, Carrey’s promise to himself led to worldwide fame. At the peak of his career, his per-film paycheck reached $20 million. When you discover your own internal power, you see that you have the right, the ability, even the obligation, to create your own best reality by setting up a standard action steps.
(7) It helps you to ask for feedback. Soliciting advice and criticism from others creates accountability. For this to work, you will need to convince the mentor, friend, colleague or significant other whom you’re appealing to, that you want to know what he really thinks. The evaluator needs to know that he won’t suffer any blowback if he is totally honest. Feedback is the key to overcome blind spots and achieve better results.
(8) Action steps warrants you to ask yourself, “Am I a renter or an owner”? We care more for the things we own than for the things we rent because we don’t have as much invested in things that are temporary; there’s not as much at stake. Have you ever washed a rental car? Of course not.
When you own something, whether it’s a car, a work assignment or a relationship you make an investment, usually involving some degree of sacrifice. When you rent, you can walk away without losing anything. If you’re really committed to achieving your goal, go all in for ownership.
(9) It prepares you to move a lot of dirt. Finding solutions is just like digging for gold. Have you seen the Discovery Channel reality show (Gold Rush)? It follows the lives of modern-day miners as they compete against time, one another and nature in hopes of striking it rich. First the miners must remove a top layer of 6 to 12 feet of dirt and rocks before the real mining even starts. Below this seemingly worthless and painful 6 to 12 feet, they hit pay dirt. The more pay dirt the miners process, the more gold they potentially find. In the end, they must move several tons of dirt to find just 1 ounce of gold. It’s hard work, but it yields rich rewards. Their bottom-line secret to success: Keep digging.
(10) You make it happen with action steps! How do you do that? How do you really make personal accountability work for you? Wouldn’t it be easy if there were just some switch you could flip? An Easy Button you could push? Maybe an application you could use? Well, there is really a flipping magical switch-app-button. It’s called making a choice and acting on it. You have the choice to fulfill your aspirations or wallow in the blame game and victim cycle.
True success doesn’t come from the outside but from within. There is no wizard. Taking greater personal accountability is the key to succeeding in everything you do.
Examine yourself and check if you have taking an action step previously or not.
The aim of this lecture is to intimate you with how much you stand to gain if only you could take action steps and also the lecture teaches you how to take those steps without obstruction(s).

How you can dream big dream that will come real

Dream is what you love to be and do for future, like your dream is to be a President of Nigeria or you dream is to buy best car or build house and so on, so what do you dream for, how big is your dream, may be is fear that make you dream small, you shouldn’t be afraid of dark, face it, they only one that will block you is yourself, you may ask how, what of my enemy, nothing like your enemy, your enemy is you, how can you become enemy of yourself is by selfish dream but if you dream good dream, it will be unblockable dream because God will be with you, the two types of dreams are selfish and kindness dreams.

This is how you can dream big dream that will come real
Let your dream be dream people will benefit from like I want to be President because how poor people are suffering, I am not happy with it. Rich people are not obeying laws anymore in justice, is all over the country, if I become President, all those things will stop. I want to be rich so that I will stop some unemployment in Nigeria, I want to be a lawyer so that I will help poor people when they have problem, I want to be a doctor so that I will help sick and poor people.
Remember when you want dream big dream, you will have big challenge, if you dream small dream you will have small challenge, bear it in mind so that you will not be discourage, if your dream is to be a President of Nigeria, never forget your educational level, whatever you want to dream of, remember you must face something, bear it in mind so that you will move like a giant, may be your dream is to be the best lawyer in the world, that is when there is nobody to help for your education, you don’t have to give up your dream, face it , start with what you have, sometime we will start to count yearly school fees and we will forget that we have the present school fees at hand, if you have money to buy jamb form, buy it that is when God will know you seriousness and he will provide for the rest of your educational level because you are the type of people God need, you may buy form ten times that is not excuse, the only excuse I know is dead, if you are alive, no excuse, Abraham Lincoln dream big dream, what is his dream, he said when he became President of America, he will stop slave trade, he started with Counselor he failed, Chairman Local Government he failed, House of Assembly he failed, Senate he failed, Governor he failed, President he fail about ten times but he later win and become President of America, it don’t matter how many times you failed, what matters is whether you achieve it, do you know what make him fail like that, is because he dream big dream, it is not easy to stop slave trade what people have been doing before you were born, you want to stop it not only in his village but all over the world, that is why he even gave his life for it, he was killed but has already done it so the death came late, Jimmy Carter the former President of America when he wanted to leave office he asked his wife where again in the world that will be greater than the white house, his dream become how he will help poor ones in Africa, he sponsored worm medicine all over Africa, now his position is more than President because his name did not only reign in America, he reigns all over the world and people respect him too. In Nigeria, they named him jimmy Carter Bridge, maybe he passed there, I don’t know but it is not easy. If your dream is only to stop your family from suffering, you may only see some small challenges, if only your village, some men may try to kill you because they don’t want you to be popular more than them but fear not if it is not selfish dream but if it is selfish dream, they may get you because God is not with you.

If you want to become President because people who have become millionaires overnight even if you become, you will not be hero if you want to become lawyer because lawyers are rich, you may be but you will not become best lawyer, if you want to be doctor because doctors use to be rich you may become but nobody will know you, you will not be best doctor in am where whatever you want, let it be what people benefit from don’t dream selfish dream, that is why I believe Jimmy Collins Author Good to Great when he says greatness is by choice there is some dream even you who dream it will say if I achieve it if it is dead let me die whatever dream that make you say that even the death will see you and give chance, like our finder may be his dream is to stop our youth from limiting their self and to stop us from doing what our father did and achieve nothing, he have to start somewhere, it don’t matter how many people he started with but what matter is whether it comes real, he may have receive many insult, people may have call him many names but he did not give up, you can see people he started with disported him then people he did not inform say that because they did not have money, people who think they have money say he neglect hem so think about it so that you will know that no dream that will not take you something may be that is why they want to stop him from going to school but he kept his dream front of himself and God is still in control, God let him do what many of our youth use to do by hawking, he learn from their like Moses did when God let him live in the house of Pharaoh, when he enter Army he did not say now I have become, I can do anything I like in the village and go free, he did not forget his dreams, he enter school and become a graduate, now he has pass though all those things nothing you will tell him again, that is what happen to Moses in the Bible, noting Egyptians will tell him because he has being with them, not only in their country but with their President, so our finder now have pass all those things you can tell him because you are not into it, that is why you are saying like that, that will not let him to stop learning because if anyone stop learning he or she will start dying, because no one will use because of salt is most valuable thing in cooking and put it too much in food, the food will become useless, dream is very important in human life don’t stay and be watching over someone’s accomplished dream, dream you own, you can do it, if they did it, you can achieve your own dream don’t mind time because if you are counting time you will become tired.

NO SORROW NO JOY

No hero in the history who have not face any challenge it is when you come out of it that you will become hero, there is some people who have never lose anything in their life but still they are poor because they don’t want anything pain, if you ask any successful person, he or she will tell you that he has failed more than twenty times before he become who he is, that why people who don’t have a story to tell, are people, when rich person start to talk about his or her story, the poor will say is a lie, he just want to cover up so that he will not help me, when I came to Lagos 2002, I helped my brother that year after I came back from Borno State, I started my own business 2003 by hawking gala after I enter recharge card business, I never believe someone will stay without money, I am 100% sure of call that person useless person, when I went to Onitsha 2007 to do cream manufacturing business there, I know what the world is all about, I will stay in the market and fill thirst but to buy pure water of five naira will become a problem for me, no money in my pocket, I will wait until I reach home before I will drink borehole water, I suffer all these because after the death of my mother I dream small dream that I will do business, my junior ones my mother left with me will come and stay with me and they will be working in my shop. The dream took me to Onitsha, when I didn’t succeed in Onitsha; I have to come back to Lagos. It is because of my thinking that make me go to Onitsha because I thought if I live in Onitsha even if I haven’t balance well in Onitsha, I will be traveling anytime I like, without knowing that it doesn’t matter where you are, it is all about money, there I learn not to mercy with money, those who mercy with money cannot achieve their dream, one proverb said that if you are a business man and it is that type of business you buy today and sell all today, you have not start business, another proverb says that no one will serve two master at the same time, you cannot mercy for money at the same time achieve your dream, it is impossible.

NO CHAMPION FOREVER

As we sleep and wake day to day, so dreams is and as I said no champion forever but champion want to remain champion, this is why strong men struggle, no matter how you dream big, the day you achieve it is no more big dream anymore, that’s why when you achieve your dream is good to celebrate it, even our Lord Jesus value celebration when you celebrate your achieving dream the next thing you should do is to dream another one, never forget, where there is no dream people perish if you don’t dream again, you will lost your championship.

KILL YOUR FEAR

You will only kill fear when you stop thinking about what people will say, do to you, it has become tradition that when someone starts to succeed people will say that he or she is ritualist, don’t be afraid of them and you too should not call anybody ritualist. No matter how successful the person maybe, because what you do to others that is what you will receive, imaging someone buys motor, you be among people that call him or her ritualist what of the person that is selling or manufacturing the motors, what will you call that person? Maybe Satan, and now you don’t want to become Satan so you will not achieve your dream, you will only achieve it when you want to become Satan, people who live that way always see deceiver who will tell them to come and see where it happen they will take you to where you will carry a bag of self limitation and when you carry that bag of self limitation, your own has end, you will become so much lazy that even to dream of y our daily bread you cannot dream it anymore.

ACT LIKE A FOOL, LIVE LIKE A WISE MAN

You will only achieve your dreams when you act like a fool, you can imagine farmers during planting season, they act like fools but during harvest season those who look at them as fool will call them wise man, that is how it is, in the junction of life where fools and wise separate, fool claim he is wise while wise did not claim anything but only say when we reach the meeting point we will know who is who, they are all right but the difference between two of them is the fool is afraid of risk while the wise know there is glory in life after risk that’s why he said when they meet at the meeting point, they will know who is who, because it is good to learn from mistake of wise than to learn from right of fool.

BE A RISK TAKER

Life is all about risk even when you sleep, your sleep is risk because you don’t know whether you will wake if you sleep, learn how to be risk taker because the world is all about risk, if you fall in sea, you don’t have to start crying, what you should do is to learn how to swim, that is only what that can save you in the sea not why me, why, is not action word, it is a weak word, why you, who did you want it to fall on, it has already fall on you, control it before it will control you. No one is born into a perfect life, if you where, you wouldn’t have anything to strive for and wouldn’t have the urge to create something with your life. You wouldn’t have any dream at all. Whatever circumstances you were born into, whatever family, life and education you had or don’t have, you came here to make your dream come true and no matter where you are now, you are fully equipped with everything you need to do it so be in control before it will control you.

DON’T GIVE YOUR DREAM CHANCE

There was one proverb that said a man sleep, his enemy come in and destroy his plan, if you dream this year that you want to build house, somebody bring motor to you to buy, if you buy the motor you may have problem with your correct dream, you don’t have to give chance face your dream, you can buy motor when you need it, good things will never end and bad things will never finish. One proverb said that unwanted plant is a w**d, when rice grow in cassava farm it will become a w**d because it grow for where it is not suppose to grow, learn to do a right thing at right time, you will be happy all days of your life, you may buy that motor but later you discover the importer of the house you dream of, you will become unhappy. You can imagine football race, they are not counting dribbling what count is goals that is the power of determination.

HAVE PASSION FOR YOUR DREAM

If you are doing anything in life that is not making your heart sing that is not fueling your passion to set up on a daily basis then you are not fulfilling your role as human beings on this planet. If you have passion on your dream, you will not have time for anything unless you achieve it, let the future of the dream be clear, when you don’t follow your dream with passion then what you work for will seem like a cage body without soul! It will result in being frustrated, keep your dream ahead, you will achieve it no matter the delay, the delay is not denial.

REPOSITION YOURSELF THROUGH RIGHT THINKING

Reposition yourself through right thinking is to Live Life without worry, all human being is in position to worry but is your choice if you can live a life of worry. We are in the world where rich man act as if he don’t have anything while the poor act as if they have.

They are three types of people:-
People who worry about themselves
People who worry about others
People who worry about government

WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF
You wake up every morning and become tired because you have started to think about how you will meet up to your working place, how you will do to make your boss happy, how you will meet your customer, how you will do this and that. You became angry, those things you worry about none of them the time to do it have reach, you leave what you spouse to do, by praying to God and thanking God for making you to see a new day, you cannot be happy when Leave your duty are start doing another things, you have to reposition yourself.

WORRY ABOUT OTHERS.
What we spouse to know a farmer who leave his farm and stat looking for his neighbors farm will not remove one w**d for his own, farm, so mind your own business if you want to be happy because you who always like to pay visit to people you are better than so that they will honor you, one day you may go there and not seeing the person the same, you will not be happy, reposition yourself by stop comparing yourself to others, who you are is who you are. You cannot be like anybody and nobody can be like you, so be your best.

WORRYING ABOUT GOVERNMENT

Nigeria is not good you are there, America do this, American do that you use your mouth to condemn where you are and think you are going to make it for where you say it is good mind your thought. They are some street which it spiritual name is worry street, if you are leaving that street don’t follow them talk the way they talk, I give you six months you will pack from there to where that fit you, but if you follow them you will remain with them it is not magic it is power of thought, what God is not caring about you human being want to care about, God is not after human being’s will, so worry about government is like try change what you cannot change and you will end up unhappy to the end of your life, reposition self through right thinking, money, government cannot make you happy only you can make yourself happy through right thinking, see solders when they are going to war they sing as if they are happy, but not at all they only know the secret of winning if they worry they will be defeated by their enemy, before David defeated Goliath it is by right thinking his think is that not is impossible for God, what make Israel not to reach their promise land is by wrong thinking so think right to reposition yourself.

These are the five things that will make you to stop worry and start living victory life:-
Understanding that life isn’t fair
Live a life of gratitude
Always count your blessing
Think of a good things that will happen to you not about thing happen to you that
Always learn from whatever that happen to you and around you
Understanding life isn’t fair
Understanding is essential to life because what you understand cannot harm you, life is all about struggle, because even strong men struggle when you understand that life isn’t fair and face it with boldness you will reposition yourself.

LIVING GRATITUDE LIFE

Gratitude is a road to success if you are not happy with who you are. You are worry because who you are is not enough for you, appreciate yourself to reposition yourself.
My family is poor, I did not go to school, I did not know how to speak in public all are negative thinking I love first Lady, people insult her she did not know how to speak English, she did not care because she appreciate herself, if you like be a professor of English if you are looking for job or contract you must speak the one she will hear or you go unanswered with your grammar.
If you live a life of gratitude people will come to learn from you, because you have become among of those who own the world.

COUNT YOUR BLESSING

Why counting is very important is that it is what you have that will give Joy, when you have Joy in your life you can do anything because your power is complete, worry reduce your power that is why it is not good to count your lost, so forget your past to reposition yourself.
I believe Brian Tracy the Author “NO EXCUSE” when he say that what you put in front of you, is what you will move ahead, count your blessing to reposition yourself.

THINK OF GOOD THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN TO You

Imagine person you don’t hope for anything come and give check of five million naira and the date is about next month, you will be waking up every day with Joy, because that’s all you can be thinking about, but if someone you don’t know come and tell you that you should start digging your grave that your own has finish and he go you did not know him, if you know it would be better because you may go and ask him what you have do to him, I promise you will not get yourself for throughout a month. All is because you think about it, if you look at the two examples, you know the one to pray for, weather good things or bad things you should be thinking so start to think of good things to reposition yourself.

LEARNING FROM WHAT EVER THAT HAPPEN TO YOU AND AROUND YOU

Learning from what that happen to you and others is wise, there was a man of God who host crusade on day of the crusade his son died he refuse of going to the crusade and started praying asking God why, God told him to go he refuse and he ask what will he tell those people, he who use pray and sick will recover and death will rise up, cannot pray for his son’s death to rise up then God said ok I will give that honour, he prayed his son rise up, life goes on when the man reach a as of seventy, his children had matured, he had only three children. The boy that died that time entre inside their house, everybody were in the house he bring out his gun and shout his mother, his two brother and shout himself remain his father alone, the man sat there hopeless, he rethink and remember what happen last, there he know why God wanted take the boy out of their family, when you start to learn from what that happen to you, you will remain happy and Joy everyday of your life, a learner don’t have time for worry, because you stop learning you will start worry, stop judge and staring learning, learn what you cannot do, what you don’t know to reposition self, don’t condemn what you don’t understand.
