13 REASONS WHY YOU ARE NOT LOSING WEIGHT
1.Thyroid – when a thyroid hormone is elevated, no matter the severity, the persons weight is affected. This is because metabolism will be slowed making the person to gain weight or losing weight becomes very difficult.
2.Insulin – when ever this hormone is high, losing weight becomes difficult which will lead to more weight gain. People who experience more and rapid weight gain or who waistline are over 40 inches, are advised to test for blood sugar. If the body cant use stored fat and cant store more fat, then there is insulin resistance affecting the body to gain more weight.
3.High prolactin – it is abnormal for non-pregnant woman or non-breastfeeding mother to have high prolactin level so when it is high, weight gain becomes very easy due to stress and some medications, because this hormone is designed to be normally high only in the above mentioned. For a normal person to get high prolactin they must have tested for PRL test.
4. Responsibility – this means that, you have to take accountable for your weight loss, by way of what you put in your mouth. You have to know if your body needs such food or not, what time do you eat in a day and how many times do you eat in a day, are you taking in the most important nutrient for your age, type of job and body.
5. Calories – you are taking in too much calories either from solid foods or from drink, sometimes you even drink too much calories without even knowing, so having a little knowledge calory content of what you are taking will help save you from consuming calories that you don’t need. For example; eating too much energy giving food when you don’t work outdoor, if you live a sedentary lifestyle, you don’t have business eating food that are very high in carbohydrates during the day. Another example; you don’t have any business taking apple juice when there is no emergency for it, an apple or two pieces of apple can save you from consuming so much calories and preventing you from putting your sugar level at risk thereby saving your life.
6. Water (not taking enough water) - water is the only thing food that you put into your mouth that does not contain calory. Not only that, water is life, it is very important to your wellbeing. It helps to keep our skin, body, organs and body cells, including the brain functioning well. Water is very vital if you desire to live well. So, drinking clean and enough water will help you manage your weight. For example; when you feel very tasty, instead of consuming carbonated drink or sugary drinks or even beer, when you drink enough water, you have solved the problem of you taking in unhealthy food that mess with your weight.
7. Exercise – you need to keep your metabolism high and another way to do that is by engaging in different out-door activities. For a better weight loss results, you need to engage in cardio and weight lifting exercises.
8. Sleep and stress – when you don’t enough sleep, your hormone called ghrelin is increased and this will lead to not losing weight effectively. There is always a thin line between being stressed and not able to relax, which sometimes leads to cravings and this led to keeping the brain awake that can harm your body
9. Excess good food – eating too much, whether good food or not is also dangerous to your body. For instance, you can’t go on eating full chicken in a meal and another big full fatty fish in the next meal and say because they are good food so you should overload your body with food that your body doesn’t even need. This will lead to not losing weight
10. Night life – people who live a late-night lifestyle hardly lose weight easily, because there are chances that they will always indulge in eating and drinking unhealthy food/drinks by so doing, they don’t give their body to relax and be healthy, this led to unhealthy gut that may mar their weight loss journey and even affect their wellbeing
11. Health problem – some health conditions can make you enable to eat food that will help you to lose weight, it can also keep your body unfit to lose weight. Example; ulcer.
12. Sedentary lifestyle – if you are the type that sit at a place for almost all the working hours period, without having to work or stand for 2-3 hours every day. Then your weight is at risk of increasing. It is even worst when you eat or drink too much calory or eat too much processed food
13. Scale – when you focus more on a weighing scale, you can get agitated. Because for most people who have heavy bones, the scale doesn’t necessarily help them by showing them how much they have lost fat or weight. So, it is advisable to monitor your weight loss in different weight like tape or taking picture before you start your weight loss journey and not only the scale alone.
