📖 Today's Lecture: The Spiritual Benefits of Fasting in Ramadan
Assalamu Alaikum, dear brothers and sisters!
In today’s lecture on Learn Islam in English, we will explore the spiritual benefits of fasting and how it transforms our hearts and souls.
🔹 Why do we fast?
Fasting is not just about abstaining from food and drink—it is a journey of self-discipline, patience, and devotion to Allah. Allah says in the Qur'an:
"O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those before you, so that you may attain Taqwa (piety)."
📖 (Qur'an 2:183)
🔹 The Spiritual Rewards of Fasting
1️⃣ Increases Taqwa (God-consciousness) – Fasting reminds us that Allah is always watching, helping us avoid sins.
2️⃣ Strengthens Self-Control – It teaches us discipline over our desires.
3️⃣ Purifies the Soul – By fasting, we cleanse our hearts of bad habits and focus on good deeds.
4️⃣ Brings Us Closer to Allah – Every moment of hunger is a reminder of our reliance on Allah.
5️⃣ Multiplies Our Rewards – The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven." (Bukhari & Muslim)
🔹 Practical Tip for Today
Try to increase your dua before Iftar, as this is a time when supplications are accepted. Make dua for yourself, your family, and the entire Ummah.
✨ May Allah bless us all in this blessed month and grant us the strength to fast with sincerity.
