It’s good to be back O.N.L.I.N.E.

After completing a grueling 100-day challenge in the first part of the year, I decided to unplug and recharge.

Now, the break was a chance for me to focus on three things;

✅my mental health,

✅spend quality time with family, and

✅explore new interests.

Part of my new interest is to fully practice Operations Management ( thank you Nexford University for the training) in the construction industry.

And it has been very exciting for me so far.

I’m back, feeling refreshed and ready to dive back in!

My first port of call will be with Teenagers living precisely around FESTAC town, Amuwo- Odofin area in Lagos, Nigeria.

My long-time friend and one of Nigeria’s finest Auto Diagnostic & Technician, .jos has put up a 10-day program themed “Teenpreneurship 2024” for teenagers ( age 13-19 years) living around the FESTAC town, Amuwo- Odofin area, Lagos Nigeria.

Now, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be a facilitator in the teen entrepreneurship program.

I will be taking teenagers on Artificial Intelligence, especially in areas of how to combine AI and emotional intelligence effectively as a teen.

The Teenspreneurship program starts today ( Monday 12th August, 2024) and will run for the next 10 days.
You can register to participate here https://forms.gle/syaicMSyUGFnLk5P8.

I look forward to more engagements in the second half of the year 2024.

Have a great week!

It’s a Wet Wednesday Morning here in Lagos, Nigeria

Now, If you want to become an established and respected figure in your industry, you must be ready to commit your time and efforts to it.

It’s like when you decide to enter for a Marathon race;

One of your would-be strategies for completing the race is surely not Sprinting, just like in a short-distance race.

Marathon requires unwavering dedication, consistent effort, and the ability to push through challenges.

However, the lasting impact and recognition that come with achieving this goal are undeniably powerful.

That should be your resolution TOO.

Be ready to commit totally to this cause by upping your ante as an aspiring Thought Leader.

Enough of procrastinating!

Make that Move NOW!

I will be on the sidelines cheering you all the way!

Are you feeling like your skills are hidden gems?

That’s how Jabari, a Kenyan weaver, felt about his tapestries.
He poured his heart into them, but showcasing them felt pointless.

“How can I inspire others?” he wondered.

One day, he met wise Nyokabi who spoke of magical “talking stones.

“ Skilled storytellers tapped them together, sending messages far and wide!

Inspired, Jabari knew his knowledge needed a similar reach.

Enter LinkedIn, a new online platform.

He’d share his craft through regular posts, like rhythmic taps on the stones, connecting with people everywhere!

Jabari didn’t just show off. He created videos showcasing weaving, from beginner knots to tricky patterns.

Imagine these as vibrant tapestries come alive!

But he also shared valuable tips, becoming a trusted advisor.

These informative posts built trust and made him a respected expert.

Just like storytellers adjusting their rhythm, Jabari tracked “likes” and comments, seeing what sparked the most conversation (like a village gathering!) and which videos kept viewers engaged.

With this knowledge, Jabari kept refining his plan. Soon, his name became known for weaving knowledge, attracting a dedicated following.
Jabari’s journey shows the power of sharing your knowledge online.

How LinkedIn Groups Helped Mbali Become a Thought Leader

Mbali, a young and eager entrepreneur from Johannesburg, felt lost in the vast online jungle of LinkedIn.

She’d post interesting articles, but they got swallowed by the endless feed.

Discouraged, she felt like a lone springbok wandering the plains, unseen and unheard.

One day, a wise old sangoma named Thandiwe noticed Mbali’s struggle.

“Child,” Thandiwe said kindly, “there’s strength in numbers.

Look for the watering holes where your kind gather.”

Intrigued, Mbali searched for LinkedIn groups focused on entrepreneurship.

She found a vibrant group called “Lionesses of Business,” filled with women like her, sharing ideas and experiences.

Mbali started small, commenting thoughtfully on other posts, just like a curious cub learning from the pride.

Soon, Mbali felt confident enough to share her own experiences.

She posted an article about overcoming challenges as a young entrepreneur. The response was amazing!

Other Lionesses offered advice and support, just like a helpful elephant sharing its wisdom.

Mbali realized LinkedIn groups weren’t just about information, they were about building connections.

Inspired, Mbali even started her own group for young entrepreneurs in South Africa, naming it “Building Baobab Trees.”

She set clear guidelines, like the rules of a peaceful elephant herd, to keep discussions friendly and productive.

From A Pro To A Thought Leader Series - 13

How Ehoro, the Hare Befriended Yanibo, the Wise

Deep in the Oluwa forest reserve in Ondo, Nigeria, Ehoro, the energetic hare, dreamt of becoming the wisest animal on the land.

He’d dash from watering hole to termite mound, peppering everyone with questions.

But the answers were always scattered bits of knowledge, leaving Ehoro frustrated.

One scorching afternoon, Ehoro stumbled upon Yanibo, the ancient tortoise, revered for her wisdom.

“Yanibo,” Ehoro panted, “how can I become truly wise?”

Yanibo chuckled, her wrinkled eyes twinkling. “Little hare,” she rumbled,

“wisdom isn’t found alone. It’s built through connection.”
Intrigued, Ehoro tilted his head. Yanibo explained,

“Show respect for those who share knowledge.

That’s like a ‘like’ on their words.”

“And if we have something thoughtful to add?” Ehoro asked, his ears twitching.

“Then a thoughtful comment is like a seed you plant,” Yanibo smiled.

“It shows you understand and can add to the conversation.”

“But how does that make me wise?” Ehoro pressed.
Yanibo gestured to a nearby path. “See those paw prints?

Sharing Yanibo’s wisdom with others widens the path, Ehoro. You become a guide, not just a listener.”

This, my buddies, is the power of engaging with influencers on LinkedIn!

One last line…

Make your communication with your audience as simple as it can get.

Don’t complicate things with your “big big” grammar.

Aim for a style that resembles a casual conversation with a friend or family member.

You will win more readers to yourself if they understand your writing from the first sentence.

Simply put;

“Let your writing be like your regular conversations with ME or your husband or your wife or your kids.”

This approach will help you connect with your readers and make your message more accessible.

I hope this helps!
