Thinking about being specific in prayers, I remembered a story from many years ago. My friends and I had prepared extensively for a crucial entrance exam, but things didn’t go as planned. We overslept, despite studying all night. In a frantic rush, we searched for a taxi, but the streets were eerily quiet. Just as we were about to lose hope, I prayed, „Lord, send us a car with air conditioning.“ One of my friends looked at me incredulously, „We’ve barely found a car, and you’re asking for one with AC?“ But, as the Bible says, „Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you“ (Matthew 7:7-8).
Miraculously, within three minutes, a jeep pulled up beside us, and the driver asked if we needed help. We gratefully accepted, and the 15-minute drive was a breeze, thanks to the AC. Reflecting on that experience, I am meditating on the importance of specificity in prayer. When you ask with clarity and precision, you’re more likely to receive what you need. As Philippians 4:6 says, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“ Don’t hesitate to ask God for specific things, whether it’s a spouse, a car, or anything else. You are trusting God for the fruit of the womb. How many do you want?
He’s our Heavenly Father, the Creator of the universe, and He delights in answering our prayers (Psalm 37:4). So, be bold, be specific, and trust in His goodness.“
He hears your seemingly simple prayers, your heart cries and your desires.
