*Important Career Advice for Medical Professionals, especially those working in a pharmacy*
Last year, while in my office, a father rushed in with his 12-year-old daughter, who appeared very weak and was experiencing convulsions. The father pleaded with me, Doctor, please save my daughter!" Recognizing the urgency of the situation, I immediately offered my vehicle to take her to the hospital." However, the father insisted on taking her to a nearby pharmacy where a nurse typically administers intravenous (IV) fluids.
Regrettably, I later learned that after the nurse started the IV, the child tragically passed away. The father subsequently accused the nurse of causing his daughter's death due to administering a counterfeit injection. To this day, the nurse is in hiding, and since the father lacked the financial means to pursue legal action against the pharmacy, the situation has largely stagnated.
Esteemed medical professionals, please heed my advice: you cannot treat every patient, and it is not prudent to attend to every case that comes your way. This is not a matter of fear, but rather a wise approach to safeguarding your career.
Furthermore, be aware that patients may have already taken various concoctions that could compromise their health before coming to you for help, pls always clerk well before taking a new decision. For instance, just yesterday, a mother brought in her 6-year-old child, who was exhibiting rapid breathing, weakness, and a high fever. Upon thorough questioning, the mother admitted to giving the child three tablets of Emzor paracetamol in an attempt to lower the fever. I promptly recommended that she seek emergency care.
Please exercise caution in your practice to ensure that you do not jeopardize your career for the sake of small money.
