Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease that affects both upper and lower motor neurons that is 100% fatal!
This disease leads to the degeneration of motor neurons and a loss of voluntary muscle control.
Damage to upper motor neurons can cause stiffness and spasticity, while damage to lower motor neurons results in weakness, muscle atrophy, and twitching.
What are motor neuron lesions?
