FÖRCÈD TO MARRY THE CÖLD-HEARTED PRINCE
WRITTEN BY: SAFIYA T IDRIS
EPISODE 9
It was already dark when prince Ayegba got to the palace. He ordered a maîd to bring his food to his chamber as he made his way towards his chamber.
Everything looked fine when prince Ayegba stepped into his room. His room was poorly lighted by the maids just enough to make him see in the dark. He didn't want brightness in his life.
He looked around as if he was searching for something before sitting on one of the chairs in his room. Just then, a guard walked into the room to inform him that the maîds were standing at the front of his door with his dinner.
The maids filled the prince's table with different varieties of dishes but he only ate a little before ordering them to clear the table.
For the first time in his life, he noticed that he was bothered about something but he didn't even know what it really was. Written by Safiya T Idris.
His thoughts drifted to his supposed bride for a minute. He wondered if she was already in the palace and hoped that she would keep her distance for her own good.
He picked up his swórd and made his way towards his inner chamber. Prince Ayegba never slept without his swórd by his side because he was always ready to fîght.
He was always on alert even in his sleep. He had never had a peaceful sleep.
Prince Ayegba's inner chamber was poorly lighted just like his first chamber yet he noticed the figure lyîng beside his bed as soon as he stepped in.
He stopped dèad in his tracks as he stared hard at the female figure who's face he couldn't see.
Without being told, he knew who she was but what he couldn't understand was what she was doing in his chamber.
Prince Ayegba knew that no maîd in the palace would be so stupîd to sleep in his chamber, not even his own stepsister so it must the princess of Udama.
"How did she find her way to his chamber? Who showed her the way to his chamber? Or is she not the one? What about the promise his father made to him?" So many thoughts ran through prince Ayegba's mind as his ànger intensified.
He felt like cûttîng who ever it was into two equal parts. His bloód boîled as he walked closer to her.
Iganya had fallen asleep in the prince's room after waiting for hours. At a point she became thirsty but she found no water to drink.
When she tried to go out, she noticed that the door had been locked. She was there when the maîds came into the room to rearrange the already arranged room.
She tried talking to the maîds but they all ignóred her like she didn't even exist. All that was king Idu's doings.
The maids were only following his instructions.
Iganya who was already used to such life remained calm. Princess Ajifa had stàrved her countless times so it wasn't new to her.
Her only concern was Inikpi. She hoped that inkpi would be fine wherever they had taken her too.
Iganya laîd on the bare floor when she began to feel sleepy even though there was a big bed in the room.
She had never slept on a bed since she was born. Her mother was a slàve and so was she so they never had the privilege of lying on the bed. In fact, it was only royalties that had such privilege in those days.
Prince Ayegba was just a few feet away from Iganya when she adjusted her sleeping position.
Iganya was still sleeping but this time, the prince could see her face even though the light in the room was not so bright. He stopped deàd in his tracks for the second time in few minutes.
Her face....He couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was. Even in her sleep, with her long hair scattered all over the place, Iganya still looked effortlessly beautiful.
Prince Ayegba was lóst for a while but he quickly regained his composure as he blinked his eyes repeatedly.
He was very àngry! Àngry at himself for the way he felt when he saw her beautiful face. He believed that he had a cóld heart and he was not supposed to have any other feelings apart from ànger when he saw her.
Prince Ayegba sensed dànger. The woman in front of him would be very dàngerous to his existence if he let her live. Written by Safiya T Idris.
Iganya could feel somebody's eyes borîng a hole on her body even though she was fast asleep.
The feeling was so strong that she opened her eyes lazily. The first thing she saw was someone's feet and when her eyes traveled from the person's feet to his face, her heart stopped beatîng for a moment.
She never thought that she would see someone so good looking. The fîre in his eyes was enough to light up the room. He looked like he was ready to kîll yet Iganya couldn't take her eyes off him. Prince Ayegba was indeed one of the good looking men that had ever lived.
If only his heart was as beautiful as his face.
"I must be dreaming, he must be a god." Iganya thought as prince Ayegba moved closer to her, ready to unlèash his ànger on her.
