Saw this and thought about Nigeria.

How many people have access to and can afford clean, pure drinking water?

How has the pandemic affected access to potable drinking water? especially in rural/low income areas?

Remember, water is life and an essential nutrient source.

What are you doing to ensure the water you drink is healthy?

Breastfeeding isn’t a one-person job. Those who breastfeed need support from someone who listens to their experience and responds to their needs with reassurance and reliable advice. But too many mothers simply don’t have that chance.

This is critical - especially during COVID-19. Breastfeeding helps protect babies from many diseases, fuels brain development and sets the foundation for a good life. We’re urging governments to invest in equal access to skilled counselling for every mother, no matter who they are or where they live.

It’s World Breastfeeding Week.
Most women still find it hard to continue breastfeeding their babies when they return to work. Workplace support is a major factor that influences a woman's decision to quit or continue breastfeeding.

Employers – let's make breastfeeding work!

If you are pregnant and COVID-19 positive, eat 3 meals plus an extra small meal or snack (or several small meals frequently) each day.

Eat a variety of meals from different food groups such as cereals and grains, vegetables, legumes, fruits, roots and tubers, foods from animal sources, nuts & seeds, dairy products and water.

Breast milk is the best source of nutrition for babies and protects them against illness. So far, corona virus has not been found in breast milk.
Therefore, the best way to fight the virus and protect your baby is to continue breastfeeding while practicing good hygiene during feeding.

If you are a breastfeeding mother showing symptoms or have been confirmed to have coronavirus, take extra care to protect your baby by continuing to breastfeed while ensuring that you wear a facemask and wash your hands with soap before and after each feed.

You can also express your milk and feed the child using a clean cup and spoon. If you are however in an isolation or treatment centre, follow the above recommendations under the guidance of your healthcare providers.
