MOBILIZATION SEQUENCE OF REGISTERED PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS TO NYSC CAMPS

The Management of National Youth Service Corps wishes to inform the general public especially the Prospective Corps Members that the 2024 Batch 'A' Stream Two Orientation Course will commence nationwide on Wednesday, 17th April, 2024. A total of One Hundred and Three Thousand (103,000) PCMs successfully registered and ready for mobilization.

In keeping with best practices and ensuring a modest and conducive environment for the smooth running of the Orientation Exercise, and also looking at the number of registered PCMs, the various Orientation Camp capacity cannot accommodate the large number of registered PCMs at the same time, hence, the utmost need to mobilize them in Batches and Streams.

The Scheme strongly believe that mobilizing PCMs in Batches will not only decongest the camps, but also maintain optimal health conditions in the Orientation Camps.

Management therefore wish to inform the Prospective Corps Members who have registered and will not be call-up for the 2024 Batch 'A' stream Two exercise to expect their call up letters for June 2024 Orientation Exercise.

The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed wishes all Prospective Corps Members safe trip to their respective Orientation Camps across the country.

All information regarding the Orientation Course will be posted on the NYSC Social Media Handles and other traditional media.

NYSC, JAMB STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP FOR CREDIBLE MOBILIZATION PROCESS

The Director General, National Youth Service Corps Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed has expressed appreciation to the Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede for his passion and commitment in the programmes of the Scheme, especially towards achieving a credible and seamless mobilization process.

Brigadier General Ahmed disclosed this when he received the latter and his Management team in his office at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.

He said the partnership between the two organisations have come a long way, "and we must continue to build on it to achieve our goals in the interest of national development".

Earlier in his address, the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede thanked the Director General for giving him the opportunity to visit, despite his busy schedules and short notice, adding that the Board is conscious of the partnership between the two organisations.

The Registrar pleaded that both organisations must be proactive in their activities so as to prevent unscrupulous persons from infiltrating JAMB database and NYSC Mobilization process.

He requested the Scheme to add Course of Study and Name of Institution attended on the NYSC Registration Portal for Prospective Corps Members during online registration.

The JAMB Registrar also revealed that the Board would provide it's list of registered candidates for NYSC so as to harmonise and fish out unqualified candidates that may fraudulently present themselves for mobilization for National Service.

TIPS FOR BATCH A STREAM 2, 2024

1. Camp opens on Wednesday 17/4/2024 across Nigeria

2. Travel with loads that are necessary and important

3. Connect with people who are useful, don’t make connection with harmful people

4. If you have the money, book flight to your destination, most travels are far.

5. Book cars at park and avoid road side vehicles

6. Registration starts on Thursday and continues till following week.

7. No BSc corper or HND corper, everybody is same and equal.

8. Take extra money with you for unforeseen expenditures

9. Ladies and male hostels are separate, don’t go beyond your boundary.

10. Be yourself in camp, there are many activities to enjoy and endure

11. Before going to camp, get the contact of your SOA in case you encounter registration issues.

12. Don’t take forged Acedemic Certificates to camp

13. You will meet wonderful persons in camp, you can even meet a life partner, open your heart to every thing good.

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR BATCH A STREAM 2 PCM

1. You can print your green card now or later and sign on it. Put any date of your choice on it.
2. ⁠If you apply for correction of any details on your dashboard and it's yet to be approved, keep checking your dashboard, it will still be approved.
3. ⁠For married female PCM, if your concessional posting is yet to be approved, keep checking it, it will be approved.
4. ⁠NYSC posting is uploaded on your dashboard and not on your email. To see your posting letter, keep your login details safe.
5. ⁠NYSC does not send messages to PCM on whatsapp, if you get any info via WhatsApp claiming to be from NYSC, disregard it.
6. ⁠Buy a shoe that is bigger than your leg a little bit. This will help you during matching parade in camp.
7. ⁠Having Original Statement of result or School Certificate is cumpolsory for all PCM. Don't go to camp if you don't have it.
8. ⁠Buy every survival kits you need outside now, they are more expensive inside the camp. But if you are rich, no problem.
9. ⁠Ladies are advised to get their menstruation kits with them while going to camp. It is important cos over 80% of ladies see their period in camp.
10. ⁠Prepare yourself mentally for the camp activities, get enough rest now and await more directives from the NYSC.

*1). QUESTION:* Is it compulsory to open a new bank account in NYSC camp?

*ANSWER:* Yes it is compulsory to open a new bank account when you're in camp.

*2). QUESTION:* I have a bank account before, do I still need to open another new bank account at the Orientation Camp?

*ANSWER:* Yes, it is compulsory. Every corp Members is obligated to open a new bank account during camp registration.

*3). QUESTION:* What type of account is it, is it different from the normal day to day bank account?

*ANSWER:* It is the usual "savings account", and not different from the normal day to day "savings" bank account.

*4). QUESTION:* Where are we to go in order to open the NYSC bank account, are we allowed to go to places outside the Orientation Camp to open it?

*ANSWER:* No, you won't be allowed to go outside the camp gate. Staff from different banks will be available in camp to help you facilitate the process.

*5). QUESTION:* Is it possible to open the new account before going to camp?

*ANSWER:* No it is not possible. Opening NYSC allowance account is one among the stages you undergo during camp registration. NYSC must clear you before you will open the account. In fact, it's your camp clearance documents you would use to open the account.

*6). QUESTION:* You said different banks' agents would be available in camp to help us open the account, which of the banks should I go for?

*ANSWER:* NYSC will allocate banks according to your state code. So go to the bank you've been assigned to.

*7). QUESTION:* Must the name I used for BVN match with the one I am using for NYSC?

*ANSWER* : NO

*Why Is My Call-Up Number Not Showing*

The reason why your NYSC call-up number is not showing is probably that you just finished the online registration or you are a Foreign-trained graduate. These are the only two reasons why you are not seeing it on your dashboard yet. Let me explain.

The NYSC call-up number is a unique number that the NYSC system always assign to every prospective Corps member after the online registration. Once your NYSC registration is successful, you will get your call-up number in less than 24-48 hours. In most cases, you can even get it immediately after your registration.

*One thing you should know is that there is no official specific duration for you to get the call-up number but usually, it's always within the first 24 hours and at most, 48 hours.*

Foreign-trained trained graduates will have to exercise patience because their NYSC Call-up number can take days to show up on their dashboard. If you are from a foreign institution, you have to be calm and wait for it. It will show up.

If you are locally trained too and after registration, you are yet to see your call-up number, you should be calm and just wait for it. It will appear. It always does. The number is yours and you will surely get it.

If you have completed your NYSC registration and you are yet to see your it, there is no need to panic. Wait for it and it will show. Even if it's taking more than 48 hours, just give it a little more time. It's not your fault and there is nothing you can do except to just wait for it. It will come.
