57 days...and counting down

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

Sixty days from today is World Sight Day. Mark your calendars! It is happening on Thursday, 12th October 2023!

This year's focus is on the crucial role of eye care in the workplace.

NIgerian Optometric Association will join the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), World Health Organization (WHO), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) as well as other eye care practitioners across the globe to raise awareness on visual impairment and preventable blindness.

The theme for World Sight Day, 2023 is LOVE YOUR EYES-AT WORK!

Together, we will inspire employers to prioritise eye health initiatives as standard practice and positively impact the well-being, safety, and productivity of employees worldwide.

As we had done in previous years, we shall fly the banner of Optometry in Nigeria high as we raise awareness on eye care to the general public and engage government and major stakeholders in the society on the need for more funding, training and manpower for eye health care delivery.

NOA shall release modalities for this year's event in days to come.
