A pharmacist is a health care professional who

1. Dispenses prescription medications* to patients, ensuring the right drug and dose.

2. Counsels patients* on how to take medicines safely, including side effects and interactions with other drugs or food

3.Checks for drug interactions* and contraindications to prevent harmful effects.

4. Provides advice on over-the-counter (OTC) products*, such as pain relievers, cough syrups, and supplements.

5. Administers vaccinations* (in many countries, including Nigeria).

6. Works in various settings*: community pharmacies (retail), hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical industry, research, and regulatory agencies.

7. Ensures proper storage and handling of medicines* to maintain their effectiveness.
