Breaking Good News.Leaving with Hepatitis B infection is not a death sentence.

Hepatitis is simply an inflammation of liver, commonly cause by viral infection.

Main hepatitis viruses are A,B,C,D and E etc, each differ in mode of transmission, severity and long term effects.

Hepatitis B and C are the most dangerous,B is a major global problem about 245milloin people are leaving with it and only 13% of this population know they are leaving with it and only 3% are on drugs.

Types of Hepatitis B infection
Acute and chronic
Acute is self limiting that is either you take drugs or not it goes on his own.All you need to do is to

Have a Bed Rest,take Adequate/Balance Nutrition,good hydration (plenty fluids)
Most importantly AVOID Alcohol intake and visit your doctor.

Chronic hepatitis this persist in the blood more than 6month and as such you need to see doctor for medical advice.

Mode of transmission
Contact with infected blood or body fluid, unprotected sex, unscreened blood transfusion and most importantly mother to child transmission during birth.

Prevention is better and cheaper than cure.

Premodial level of prevention which has to do with government policy to ensure everychild is been immunised.

Primary level of prevention which has to do with general health promotion and specific protection meaning try as much as possible to avoid the Risk factors listed above and make sure you take immunization.
