ODCHC LAUNCHES 24/7 CONTACT CENTER TO IMPROVE CARE COORDINATION.

The Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC) has established a dedicated 24/7 Contact Center (02017004601, 02017004602) to close communication gaps between the Commission, its enrollees, and healthcare providers, as well as to enhance the coordination of care across the state.

According to the Director General, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin, who spoke with newsmen in his office, the center was created to ensure timely resolution of complaints, provide accurate information to all callers, and deliver seamless support to residents enrolled in various ODCHC schemes. “The helplines are active round-the-clock, including nights and weekends, with trained agents on standby to assist enrollees and the general public,” he added.

Oyeneyin explained that the rapid growth of the ODCHC enrollee base made the previous reliance on personal phone lines to manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls increasingly unsustainable.

The DG clarified that with the recent launch of the ORANGHIS informal sector scheme and the Commission’s target to reach one million enrollees by 2027, the new Contact Center represents a proactive step toward meeting rising demand and strengthening service delivery.

He noted that most inquiries and complaints are resolved immediately during calls, in line with the Commission’s commitment to prompt access to care. Issues that require additional processing time, such as change of facility requests or onboarding of new enrollees, are handled within clearly defined timelines.

Dr. Olamiji Ibitoye, Head Case Management, ODCHC, disclosed that the Contact Center currently handles an average of 30 calls and 10 new WhatsApp chats daily, a figure that continues to rise as more residents subscribe to the health insurance scheme.

He added that supervisors and a Contact Center Manager oversee daily operations to ensure that all pending matters are resolved within 24 hours.

ODCHC assured residents that the new helplines will continue to support its mandate of extending quality and affordable healthcare coverage to every resident of Ondo State.
