ODCHC Q3 2025: 23,428 SERVICES UTILIZED AS 1,886 NEW ENROLLEES JOIN SCHEME.
The Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC) has released its Quarter 3, 2025 Scorecard, highlighting significant growth in enrolment, service utilization, and healthcare access across the state.
During the period under review, a total of 23,428 services were utilized, reflecting strong demand for essential healthcare. Malaria topped the list with 8,138 cases, followed by upper and lower respiratory tract infections, hypertension, and peptic ulcer disease. Diabetes management, typhoid fever, osteomyelitis, and various skin conditions were also frequently treated.
The Commission also recorded 517 facility changes, indicating increased flexibility for enrollees accessing care across accredited hospitals.
Healthcare facilities witnessed notable activity during the quarter. The State Specialist Hospital, Oke-Aro, Akure, led the top 10 healthcare facilities with 2,726 encounters, followed by the State Specialist Hospital, Ondo, and Skye Hospital, Akure. Others on the list included the Nigerian Police Medical Services, Akure; State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko; Ministry of Health Hospital, Akure; General Hospital, Igbokoda; UNIMED Teaching Hospital, Ondo; Simlon Medical Center, Akure; and the College of Health Tech Clinic, Akure.
Under the Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS), 18,731 visits were recorded, with 1,886 new enrollees joining within the quarter. Medical outreaches further extended healthcare access to 1,030 residents, comprising 485 males and 545 females.
For maternal and child health, the Abiyamo Maternal and Child Health Scheme documented 1,179 antenatal visits and 867 deliveries, including 578 spontaneous vaginal deliveries and 248 caesarean sections. The scheme also recorded 26 twin births and 17 stillbirths.
The Basic Health Care Provision Fund Programme (BHCPF) recorded 9,162 visits and 10,618 services utilized, reflecting a 13% utilization rate.
ODCHC also strengthened access to diagnostic services, optical and dental care, and specialized procedures such as CT scans and MRI, recording 24 beneficiaries under advanced diagnostics.
With 68 ORANGHIS-accredited providers, nine Abiyamo service points, 203 BHCPF facilities, and 10 community pharmacies, the Commission continues to deepen access to quality healthcare across Ondo State.
Reaffirming its commitment to improving health outcomes, ODCHC pledged to keep expanding affordable and efficient healthcare services in line with the "OUR EASE" 7-point developmental agenda of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
