R for Rainbow.. the second of the B family is a lover of light, with a beautiful name, Riboflavin fondly called Vit B2. She is the protector of Light. Ironically she hates very bright harmful light this is because too much bright light burns her. But come on, who ever likes harmful things. Ribo always wore a special shield that protects the eye from damages that could result for prolong exposure to UV lights, blue rays, and all kinds of stress.

Ribo in her tiny lovely voice, screams to all who cares to listen ' too much sunlight can make the eye cloudy'.

Ribo likes the company of fish, yogurts, milk, eggs, almonds, peanuts, green veggies, avocados and whole grains.

The Kingdom of Sight and the B-Vitamin Sub-Urban

Long ago, in the Kingdom of Sight, lived a happy family of brothers and sisters with the surname B-Vitamin Family.

They lived in a tiny village deep inside the eye. They loved one another, worked together, and shared one mission to protect vision and keep eyesight sharp. Each member of the family had a different responsibility, yet they worked in perfect harmony.

The eldest of the family was Vitamin B1, also called Thiamine. He acted as the gatekeeper of the village.

His duty was to make sure that all the blood vessels and nerve wires supplying the eye stayed healthy at all times.

Whenever his strength became weak, the eye could suffer from swelling, nerve damage, and vision problems.

As the elder and gatekeeper, B1 was always shouting to the rest of the village: “You need enough blood! If blood flow to the eye becomes weak, vision becomes blurred!”

Vitamin B1 is a close friend to beans, nuts, eggs, meat, milk, and green leafy vegetables.
