LET THE FRAME FIT
Other than correcting vision, it is important we consider aesthetics while choosing frames to fix our medicated lenses on. Good frame selection is as important as getting a good refraction (glass test), because it promotes compliance (especially for constant wear spectacle prescriptions). There is this common belief that medicated glasses gives the wearer a geeky appearance, whereas modern trend of glasses gives a rather fashionable appearance. In choosing a frame, first consider your face shape, then the frame that fits that particular shape. Your medicated glasses should in summary
Correct Visual defects and Complement your appearance

for Bankers and other computer screen users to avoid Computer Vision Syndrome.

7 Things You're Doing at Your Desk That Give You Eye Strain

Things you're doing at your desk that will give you eye strain Eye strain can be caused by excessive lighting.
*Overhead lighting should be no brighter than your screen.
*Don't wear glasses with an old prescription. For maximum comfort, ask your eye doctor about custom computer eyeglasses.
*Avoid "turtling" - sitting with your back rounded, chin jutting forward and head tilted back - to get closer to your screen.
*If you can't see your screen clearly with good posture, visit an eye doctor.
*Old monitors and low- resolution screens are hard on the eyes.
*Upgrade to a high-resolution flat panel display for less eye fatigue.
*Sitting too close to the screen can cause eye fatigue and blurred vision.
*Having your mouse too far away will make you lean closer to your screen, increasing focusing strain. *Are you sitting in a bad chair? Your back should be supported so you can sit upright and at a comfortable viewing distance from your screen.

OTHER QUICK TIPS: Avoid "computer stare": It's easy to forget to blink when looking at a computer screen. Remember to blink often and fully to keep your eyes moist and comfortable. Get an eye exam: Your eye doctor can identify vision problems and pre- scribe special computer glasses for greater viewing comfort. The "20x4" (20-20-20-20) rule: Keep your eyes at least 20 inches from your screen and take a 20-second break every 20 minutes to look at some- thing at least 20 feet away.

EARLY MORNING URINE IN THE EYE DOES WONDERS?
It was a bright sunny morning, as is the culture, after surgeries, we do have influx of post surgery patient ,which we usually attend to first before the days job, but on this day , I got a report from the nurses of a serving police officer with severe pain who needed treatment ASAP, so when I was done with the patient assigned to me, I called him in.
A 43 year old male, with complaint of pain and redness in right eye spanning about 3 weeks, his vision in that eye was poor, conducted tests and examination(don’t want to bore you with the details) and a diagnosis of fungal keratitis was made. Fungal keratitis, is an infection of the cornea by fungi. During examination and further probing he later opened up that he was advised by his colleagues to pour early morning urine in eye as a remedy for painful red eye, and some days later he experience more excruciating pain , tearing and some days after, he noticed a white patch on his black eye,(cornea).
Urine is made up of filtered waste and extra water from your blood and can never be a a cure for any ailment on any part of the body, rather it will worsen the symptoms, and in a case whereby an individual has an untreated urinary tract infection, the symptoms only worsens and depending on the severity one may lose the eye or become visually impaired significantly. So it is imperative that we care for our eye and desist from inserting harmful substances into the eye as this may cause blindness or significantly impair vision.
