Ophthalimia Neonatorum also known as Neonatal Conjunctivitis is the inflammation of the Conjunctiva that occurs in newborns/infants within the first month of life, less than 30days old.
It's a leading cause of preventable blindness in newborns and it usually occurs as a result of carelessness at the time of birth.
Causes of ophthalimia Neonatorum includes

A 31-years old was presented with a severe case of corneal ulceration
His ordeal began when he attempted to treat a minor eye issue with unorthodox methods, instilling urine,cassava water, and herbal leaves into his eye.
Unfortunately, these actions led to a rapid deterioration of his condition, resulting in a corneal ulcer and significant inflammation.
Affected eye was 6/36 and his intraocular pressure (Iop)was elevated at 31.45mmHg.
Unverified treatment can complicated conditions, leading to severe consequences.
