is a simple, effective, and inexpensive way to replenish fluids and electrolytes lost due to diarrhea, vomiting, or excessive sweating. Here's a homemade ORS recipe:

*๐ˆ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ:*

1. 1 liter of clean water
2. 1/2 teaspoon of salt (sodium chloride)
3. 6 teaspoons of sugar (sucrose or glucose)
4. Optional: 1/4 teaspoon of potassium chloride (or 1/2 banana, mashed)

*๐ˆ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ:*

1. Mix the salt and sugar in the water until dissolved.
2. Stir well.
3. Add potassium chloride (if using).
4. Stir again.
5. Store in a clean container.

*๐“๐ข๐ฉ๐ฌ:*

1. Use a clean glass or plastic container.
2. Use measuring spoons for accuracy.
3. Use boiled or filtered water if possible.
4. Adjust sugar to taste (but maintain salt ratio).
5. Prepare fresh solution every 24 hours.

*๐–๐ก๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฌ๐ž ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ?*

1. Salt (sodium): Replaces lost sodium.
2. Sugar (sucrose/glucose): Provides energy, helps absorption.
3. Potassium chloride (optional): Replaces lost potassium.

*When to use homemade ORS:*

1. Diarrhea or vomiting.
2. Excessive sweating.
3. Fever.
4. Dehydration symptoms (dry mouth, dark urine).

*Important:*

1. Consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen.
2. For severe dehydration, seek medical attention.
3. This homemade ORS is not suitable for infants under 6 months.

*World Health Organization (WHO) ORS Recipe:*

The WHO recommends a slightly different recipe:

1. 1 liter of clean water
2. 2.6 grams of sodium chloride (about 1/2 teaspoon)
3. 13.5 grams of glucose (about 2.5 teaspoons)
4. 1.5 grams of potassium chloride (about 1/4 teaspoon)

Adjust the recipe according to your needs and consult a healthcare professional if unsure.

Stay hydrated and healthy!

Before we learn about this drug, let me bring your knowledge to some common brands; vi**ra, vega, kifaru, Man G, etc.

Sildenafil is a medication used for treating erectile dysfunction (ED).

In the treatment of ๐„๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ง๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, it helps to achieve an er****on significant enough for sexual in*******se.

When prescribed, it is usually advised to take it about 1 hour before sexual activity and sufficient arousal and stimulation is also recommended.

๐‡๐Ž๐– ๐ƒ๐Ž๐„๐’ ๐ˆ๐“ ๐–๐Ž๐‘๐Š?
This may sound a little medical, but it's important to pick a thing or two to learn;

Sildenafil is from the family of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors.

This is what happens on a normal day ;During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide (NO) is released in the corpus cavernosum of the p***s.

Nitric oxide goes ahead to activate an enzyme which increases level of a substance called cGMP
The presence of this cGMP leads to the relaxation of smooth muscle and increases blood flow to the p***s, resulting in an er****on.

A particular enzyme called PDE5 breaks down the cGMP that enables this needed relaxation and blood flow. When PDE5 does this, er****on is disrupted.

Now, this is where Sildenafil comes in.

It stops ๐๐ƒ๐„5 from doing this and allows the normal process to occur.

Once the effect of Sildenafil wears out, the ๐๐ƒ๐„5 enzyme resumes work again.

This is why most men keep taking the pill when the root cause is not identified and eliminated.

-If it's a hormonal issue involving testosterone status, hormonal treatment will be introduced to tackle the condition
-If it's psychological such as; depression, PTSD, performance anxiety, and widower syndrome, appropriate therapy will be given
-It could occur due to pe**le disorders like; Peyronie disease and Epispadias
-It could also be as a result of nutritional deficiency, such as ; zinc deficiency and other form of malnutrition.
-It could be as a result of blood diseases, systemic and endocrine diseases that your doctor is likely to spot.
-Using Sildenafil alone without fixing the root cause of ED, will lead to overuse and this will result in serious undesired effects.

, a type of drug known as a monoclonal antibody, targets a protein called GDF-15. Several drugs targeting GDF-15 or another that it interacts with in the brain, called GFRAL, are in development as possible treatments for cachexia, but ponsegromab is the first to advance this far in clinical trials.

No drugs are approved in the United States or Europe to treat cachexia, so the results with ponsegromab represent โ€œa big breakthrough in the field of cancer cachexia research,โ€ said Richard Dunne, M.D., of the Wilmot Cancer Center in New York and an investigator on the trial.

In a press release, Pfizerโ€”which makes ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐š๐› and funded the trialโ€”said it is planning to launch a larger trial of the drug next year in people with cancer and cachexia. If the trial produces similarly positive results, it could lead to the drugโ€™s approval by the Food and Drug Administration.

Cachexia has long been considered an almost insurmountable problem in people with cancer, usually those with advanced disease. It's also commonly seen in several other health conditions, including heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.

In its most severe form, with muscle and fat slipping away over a period of months for no apparent reason, it can cause extreme weakness and fatigue, along with unwelcome changes in skin color and overall physical appearance. Its physiologic impact, particularly on the lungs and heart, can lead directly to death.

Although it can occur in many types of cancer, cachexia most commonly occurs in people with pancreatic, colorectal, lung, and head and neck cancers, as well as some blood cancers and sarcomas.

According to E. Ramsay Camp, M.D., of Baylor College of Medicineโ€™s Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center, for oncologists like him who specialize in treating pancreatic and other cancers in which cachexia is common, the condition is always top of mind.

โ€œOne of the first things I ask new patients [with these cancers] is whether theyโ€™ve lost weight,โ€ said Dr. Camp, who was not involved in the trial. Any weight loss could be a sign that cachexia is starting to set in. Even in people whose cancer is still in early stages, a loss of muscle and fat can affect their ability to tolerate and complete their treatments, he explained.

โ€œPatients often ask me what they can do to helpโ€ with their treatment, he said. โ€œAnd my number one comment is always to maintain your weight, because [your] cancer treatments will take a toll.โ€

For years, researchers struggled to understand cachexia's biological underpinningsโ€”what happens in cells and organ systems that causes muscle to deteriorate and squelches peopleโ€™s desire and ability to eat.

Over the last decade, however, cachexia researchers have made substantial headway in understanding the biologic players involved in cachexia and identified some tangible leads for possible treatments.
