I delivered a public lecture at the 2026 Cross River Community Week Celebration held at the University of Calabar, Cross River State.

During the lecture titled “Leaving a Legacy: Community First, Development Always,” I shared thoughts on the need to prioritise people-centred development, strengthen our communities, and work collectively towards sustainable progress.

It was a privilege to engage with students, community leaders, and stakeholders who are committed to shaping a better future for Cross River State.

I was honored to represent the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, at the Steering Committee Meeting and Flag-Off Ceremony of the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) Project in Abuja.

The event, hosted by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation in collaboration with the World Bank, marks a significant milestone in advancing sustainable energy solutions and strengthening irrigation infrastructure to boost agricultural productivity and support national development.

At the 2nd Cross River State Energy Summit, themed “Unlocking Cross River’s Energy Using Sustainable Finance,” I delivered a keynote on Financing Cross River State’s Energy Transition.

Our focus is clear: mobilizing sustainable finance through blended capital, green instruments, and strategic partnerships to accelerate renewable energy development and position Cross River as a leader in clean, bankable energy investment.

Investors are encouraged to take advantage of our strategic geographical location, littoral status, and an administration that is open to strong, transparent partnerships.

During the week, the Cross River State Chapter of the Association of Retired States’ Permanent Secretaries of Nigeria (ARSPSON), led by its Chairman, Barrister Emmanuel Enamhe, paid a courtesy visit.

I deeply value the wisdom, institutional memory, and enduring commitment of our retired Permanent Secretaries. Their years of service laid the administrative and fiscal foundations upon which we continue to build.

We had constructive discussions centered on strengthening public financial management, promoting accountability, and sustaining policies that advance the economic stability and growth of Cross River State.

I appreciate their visit and the continued willingness to contribute their experience toward good governance and responsible stewardship of public resources.
