Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) is a concept that addresses improving access to livelihood assets and services for ALL, including the women, poor, and excluded. It supports more inclusive policies and mindsets and increases the voice and influence of all including of the women, poor and excluded1.

Gender and social analysis is critical to achieving desired development outcomes of increased production , improved outcomes for poverty alleviation, increased well-being for all, and a fairer distribution of burdens and benefits in agriculture among women and men.

Social inclusion requires that all individuals be able to 'secure a job; access services; connect with family, friends, work, personal interests and local community; deal with personal crisis; and have their voices heard.
