🌍 HIV Awareness in South-East Nigeria

(Continued from yesterday post- HIV as a communicable disease)

Did you know that Anambra State currently has the highest number of people living with HIV in the South-East region of Nigeria?
According to the 2024 National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) Spectrum Report, here’s the breakdown of HIV burden in the region:

🔹 Anambra State – 100,429 people
🔹 Imo State – 67,944 people
🔹 Enugu State – 61,028 people
🔹 Abia State – 54,655 people
🔹 Ebonyi State – 14,151 people

🩸 Although Nigeria has made huge progress in HIV awareness and treatment, many still live with the virus — often without knowing their status.
Early testing, consistent treatment, and community education remain key to achieving a generation free from HIV.
