Yesterday the ES/CEO ENSPHCDA addressed members of the State AEFI Committee ahead of the Measles–Rubella Vaccine (MRV) campaign scheduled to hold from 4th to 15th February, 2026

The engagement focused on strengthening preparedness for prompt detection, reporting, and response to Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) during the campaign.

The ES emphasized the importance of vigilance, coordination, and adherence to national guidelines to ensure the safety of all eligible children.

Yesterday, The Task Force meeting on PHC was convened at the Office of the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai who chaired the meeting.

The meeting focused on a comprehensive review of PHC activities implemented in the last quarter, assessing progress, challenges, and key lessons learned. It also served as a platform to plan and align strategies for the current quarter, with particular emphasis on preparedness ahead of the forthcoming Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine rollout in the state.

Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening PHC service delivery, improving coordination, and ensuring a successful and effective MR vaccination campaign across the state.

The Executive Secretary addressed participants of the State Training of Trainer on Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination. Participants include LIOs, SMOs, M&E officers, LGHAS, DSNOs, Supervisors, and Education Secretaries drawn from the 17 LGAs, ahead of the MR vaccination campaign scheduled to hold from 4–14 February 2026.

The training is designed to build the capacity of participants, who will in turn cascade the knowledge and skills acquired to vaccination team members at the LGA level, ensuring effective implementation and improved campaign outcomes across the state.

Measles Risks:
- Pneumonia
- Encephalitis (brain inflammation)

Rubella Risks:
- Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) in pregnant women, leading to:
- Miscarriage
- Stillbirth
