The Task Force on Primary Health Care convened its first quarter (Q1) 2026 meeting, chaired by the Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Committee, His Excellency, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai. The meeting reviewed key PHC activities and challenges encountered during the first quarter and outlined strategic priorities and action plans to guide implementation in the next quarter.

Last week, His Excellency, Peter Mbah, ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Prof. George Ugwu, commissioned the newly built Primary Healthcare Centre in Umushi, Ugbawka.

The facility was facilitated by Rear Admiral PC Nwatu as part of the Chief of Naval Staff’s Quick Impact Project.
The Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency appreciates the Nigerian Navy for this laudable intervention, which will significantly improve access to quality primary health care services for the people of the community.

This initiative also aligns with the vision of His Excellency to strengthen and improve primary health care across Enugu State.
