Second (2nd) Case Presentation
Mr. A. is a year two medical student. He was brought in one of the Nigerian hospitals for mental and psychological treatment. He was abusing caffeine; he said that he started abusing the drug in year one; this was when he noticed that the substance helps him to be awake and read his books. At a point when the doses of caffeine he was taking increased he started exhibiting psychiatric symptoms (like: restlessness, nervousness, uncontrollable thoughts/speeches, psychomotor agitation, unnecessary excitement and others ) before his people took him to hospital.
Apart form the above complain, he was always watching neck women( ie Po*******hy) which arouses him, makes him happy and leads him to ma********on . He said he does it always and countless times. According to him, he was comfortable with it before and was hiding it from everybody but at the present time of assessment, he said that he was no longer comfortable and happy with such attitude and he decided to disclose it to the clinical psychologist and said that he needs help not only to reduce the number of times he does the po*******hy and ma********on but to come out of it totally.

Friends let us be reminded that the 6 steps for the Mind treatment for Mr P took only three sessions.
The mind treatment is important because the mind of man has to be treated; and it is information that is given to man; insight given to him/her and knowledge exposed to him/her in the area of his challenges or diagnosis that makes him/her renewed, renovated revived and empowered . Then when the mind is restructured the individual would be courageous to face his/her life challenges with boldness. The mind treatment is necessary and should be included in the mental health.

(6) Follow Up- follow up means to maintain a communication with a person; to revisit. All these inspirational techniques from the bible was done to help Mr P replace his old desires in form of cravings , tolerance; behavioural and functional reactions and then increase or amplify the Godly desires. During the follow up, he was encouraged to do the practices continuously so that he would get used to them. During the follow up, anger was identified and managed.

(5)Deliverance- Deliverance means breaking out from captivity; or coming out from evil demonic and ancestral bo***ge. This is usually done by breaking the yoke of such bo***ge with the word of God Ish 10:27; JN 8:36;. After explaining the above word of God to Mr P, he was made to understand the following facts:
1) He is now a child of God and has entered into the covenant of God and forces from the father's house are not supposed to content with his destiny any longer and based on that the yoke of any bo***ge targeted towards him was broken and was set on fire Jere 51:25
2) He was encouraged as a child of God and through the help of the christian clinician, both joined hands in prayers to rebuke the gods from his father house who indirectly suggested to him to continue his ugly behaviour in Nigeria by connecting him through demonic transaction that manifested through the ma*****na raps he saw at the father's bore hole. These word of God in Ps 24:1-2; Lam3:37 and Josh 21:45 were used to stand in the gap through prayers and destroyed the existing negative structure or existing negative order already established and it was declared to these demons that God is in-charge.
3) Finally Mr P and the clinician joined hands to pray so as to uprooted and removed these negative plantations Matt 16:19; Matt 15:13 ; Ish 49: 24-26

(4) Behaviour Replacement CONT
Mr P was told to write down the bible portions read, what he understood and how it affected his present life.
He was told to form a pray and pray with the bible portions he read.
He was told to form a song with any portion of the bible.
And he was given examples of how to do it by the christian clinician before he was asked to do them.

(4) Behaviour Replacement- behaviour replacement means behaviour change within a specific period of time. Mr P was told that as a child of God, he has put out/off the old man of smoking, cheating, lying, fraud, law breaking and being a trickster that turns into a new man that respects God, reading the bible, praying and singing (Eph 4: 22-24 ). Mr P was told to follow this time table below:

2) Listen to one worship song daily
3) Listen to one message daily
4) Pray in the morning and pray before sleeping
5) Sing three songs before going to bed

(3) Positive Relationships - positive relationships means having a meaningful relationships; warm, satisfying and trusting relationships. Mr P was told to forget all his old route and friends; including the Hausa man he handed over the ma*****na raps he found near his fathers borehole (Amos 3:3). He was told that having a trusting and meaningful relationships could be built up by relating with the children of God.

(2) Self Acceptance- self acceptance means feeling positive about oneself/life; it also means forgetting about old life that was not properly lived and focusing on the future. Mr P was told to accept in faith the fact that a new life has begun with him and everything he has done in the past has been forgiven by God. He was told not to remember the old lifestyle nor think of practicing it ; should avoid self blaming, guilt feeling and self condemnation(2 Cor 5: 17)

The six (6) steps for the Mind Treatment for Mr P are:
(1) Information-- information means knowledge of a thing or knowledge of something; what is known about a given topic. Mr P was sensitized on the following: (1) His sickness presentations (2) Benefits of salvation
Sickness Presentations - Though this patient was sick but he needed knowledge in that area of his ill heath; insight and knowledge about the psychopathology in question was given. Mr P was told about the diagnoses of substance dependence ; he was sensitized on physiological(cravings, tolerance), behavioural, functional reactions and their symptoms. The information went a long way to reduce his fears on some recurrent symptoms; he was made to know that such problem exist but they are treatable; these information stabilized him the more
Benefits of Salvation - The patient has received salvation but does not know what salvation carries but needs to know. Mr P was told that salvation has so many good packages which health and healing are part of it. He was made to understand that he belongs to Jesus Christ and by the stripes given to Him (Jesus Christ) he was healed and that if those stripes given to Jesus Christ cannot be returned; then his sicknesses cannot be given back to him . He was told to just remain with Jesus Christ; and as long as he remain with Him sound health is assured (Ish 53:4-5 KJV). Based on those diet given to Mr Ps mind, he was highly encouraged and renewed.

The mind is the seat of thinking, wisdom and understanding; patients with mental problem have specific ways of feeling. The mind can be empowered, revived and sensitized to reason better One of the best ways to empower a mans mind is to give him information; information transforms a man and lack of it deforms a man. The balance diet for the mind is information; and when the patients are empowered with information of what is happening to them and their symptoms, they become courageous, reason better, move forward and face their life challenges with boldness

Friends, let us meditate on these facts:
Assuming Mr P who has lost hope because of his frustrations in South Africa and Nigeria is treated with other therapies in mental health, what would have happened was; number (1) easily relapse. Again, if he was motivated, it means that I would have motivated a transgressor. And on the other way round, if I have inspired him to move forward despite all odds, I would have inspired a law breaker.

The above statement I made is just like what my daddy in the Lord, Dr Pst Paul Enenche said that offering inspiration to a sinner is nothing but producing an inspired law breaker because the sin is still intact inside the person.
In fact the spirit and soul of patients should be treated; the yoke of sin in the patients should be broken and Holy spirit impacted to them for a better lifestyle. Therefore the above treatment (soul and spirit treatment) should be incorporated in our treatment in mental health.
