Adamawa police arrests man for st@bbing father to de@th, another for k!lling his stepmother
The Adamawa State Police Command is currently investigating two separate incidents of culpable homicide arising from domestic violence in Madagali and Gombi Local Government Areas.
A statement from the command's spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, says the first incident occurred in Pallam District, Madagali LGA. According to him, preliminary investigation reveals that a physical confrontation erupted between two co-wives, Rhoda Anthony, aged 55, and Victoria Anthony, aged 36, both married to one Anthony Pallam.
During the altercation, Victoria's son, Ijai Anthony, aged 16, reportedly struck his stepmother, Rhoda Anthony, on the head with a piece of wood, causing her to collapse. He said that the police was alerted and the victim was rushed to Cottage Hospital Madagali but was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment. The suspect and his mother have been taken into protective custody as investigation progresses.
Nguroje added that in a separate incident, the Command received a distress report that one Idi Buba attacked his biological father, Buba Jelli by st@bbing him on the neck and back with a knife, following a domestic altercation.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Care Center in Fotta, where he sadly d!ed while receiving treatment. The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the knife used in the attack has also been recovered and will be treated as an exhibit.
Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
