National Senior Citizens Centre is a government organization whose mandate is to see to the total, untampered and complete well being of the elderly/senior citizens of our society.

Today the entire nation mourns the passing of His Excellency General Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, Former Military Leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as he was interred in his hometown, Daura Katsina State.

We at the National Senior Citizens Centre, Enugu State Chapter (Enugu State Consultative Forum on Ageing) join his family, the Federal Government of Nigeria and indeed all Nigerians in praying that Allah grants him a peaceful rest, as we fondly remember his forward action in passing the Elderly People's Act which further established the National Senior Citizens Center to further foster well being of the elderly and protection of their rights.

The National Senior Citizens Center Enugu State (Enugu State Consultative Forum on Ageing) will keep pushing on this legacy to create better days for our elderly while counting on our Amiable Governor, His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's swift action in Passing this Elderly People's Act into law in Enugu State (DOMESTICATION).

May his soul rest in peace...

Yesterday the team of the National Senior Citizens Center Enugu State (NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS CENTRE ENUGU STATE STAKEHOLDERS CONSULTATIVE FORUM ON AGEING) ably led by the Co-Chair 1 Pst Emma Chukwuma were at the live studio 🎙️ of the ESBS SUNRISE 🌞 🌄 96.1FM.

In the live program, they further highlighted the challenges faced by the elderly/Senior Citizens of Enugu and THE NEED FOR THE DOMESTICATION OF THE SENIOR CITIZENS ACT AS A LAW IN ENUGU STATE... In order to further protect the rights of our elderly/Senior Citizens.

This is in further commemoration of World Elder Abuse Day held on June 15th.

On 5th June 2025 the National Senior Citizens Centre, Enugu State Chapter team led by the Co-Chair 1 and Head of Enugu NSCC Chapter Pst Emma Chukwuma held a strategic meeting with the Executive Secretary and team of the Enugu State Agency for Universal Health Coverage.

Discussions were held on the possible ways our Senior Citizens can be covered by the Agency's free/subsidized healthcare coverage even to the hinterlands for both retired government staff and those who were in the private sector, etc.

The NSCC were warmly received and plans to achieve these benefits for our Senior Citizens in Enugu State were set in motion and with both parties pledging utmost co-operation with the processes and tasks involved in order to ensure our Senior Citizens get the best quality of life.

In the visit were Mrs. Jennifer C. Vice-Chair on Agriculture and food security, also Dr. Chima Chidubem Vice-Chair Health and Social Care.

NSCC... ENSURING OUR SENIOR CITIZENS HAVE THE BEST QUALITY OF LIFE.

We all at the National Senior Citizens Centre, Enugu State Chapter mourn the passing of a legend, GENTLEMAN MIKE EJEAGHA whose works and foot prints has forever carved a niche in all our hearts.

Our senior citizens deserve the Best care and quality of life after giving us the immeasurable gift of the best days of their lives.

A big thank you to all his family and all who made him smile and shed tears of joy in the recent Gwo Gwo Gwo ngwo uproar... God bless you all immensely.
