What's that one thing that is common with every skill and handiwork?
A '๐ข๐๐จ๐จ'!
'Mess' in this context means anything far from the ideal and perfect product of what we intended; the exact representation.
We literally create 'mess' in the process of producing any work.

A noticeable feature of a 'mess' is that it usually leaves you discouraged and it always screams, "๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ช๐ฅ!" especially when it's not anticipated and when what is right before you is nothing close to what you envisioned
But the fact is that 'messes' are there in order to yield a perfect (relative) and a finished product of a thing. It may not look like the ideal when we're starting out but giving up is not the resolve; when it's all messy, when we no longer have the strength to continue, when all we can see is a placard that reads, "give up!"
Having the right attitude towards our 'messes' can help us continue from where we stopped and remind us why we started.
It may take just one more action of yours to get that stuff into its desired form. One more stroke to get that drawing done, one more stitch to have that desired cloth, one more block to get that building done with...
And how about when it appears that there are traces of what you call a 'mess' in your journey? That break, that threshing, that difficult process, that disappointment, that weighty matter...
Think of those 'messes' as the things needed to form the you that must be.
Sometimes, things need to break for light to come in.
Sometimes, 'messes' must happen in order to complete a thing.
Don't be afraid to create a mess.
And this is the conclusion of the matter: Don't give up yet!
