MENTAL HEALTH OUTREACH & PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT FOR BOKKOS WIDOWS ❤️ 🫂

On May 8 2026, in Bokkos, the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation came together to stand with the widows who have carried so much pain in silence.

We held a heartfelt mental health outreach filled with compassion and care.
Through one-on-one counseling sessions, we listened deeply as they shared their stories, their fears, their sleepless nights, and the heavy burdens they carry every day. Every voice was heard. Every tear was honored.

In our group support circles, widows sat together as sisters. They spoke openly, comforted one another, laughed, cried, and for a few precious moments, felt the warmth of not being alone.

We also guided them through simple but powerful psychosocial activities — mindful breathing exercises, memory sharing circles, and emotional wellness sessions — helping them rediscover small pockets of peace and inner strength.

This outreach was anchored by our Plateau State Chapter under the leadership of the Plateau State Programs Manager, Mr. Amos Zingven Selkap.

Today, we witnessed beautiful glimmers of hope — soft smiles breaking through sorrow, hands reaching out in solidarity, and hearts beginning to feel a little lighter.

This was more than an event.
It was love made visible.
It was healing in motion.

To every Bokkos widow who joined us today:
You are seen, supported and not alone.
Even after today, our commitment remains. The Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation will continue walking this journey of healing with you, one step, one session, and one heartbeat at a time.

Thank you for your courage. You inspire us all."

EBONYI STATE CHAPTER

BOYS TO MEN – ADOPTING GOOD HABITS AND ATTITUDES
Raising boys to become responsible, emotionally intelligent, resilient, and compassionate men starts with instilling the right habits and attitudes from an early age. In a world that often pressures boys to suppress emotions in the name of “strength,” we must intentionally guide them towards positive masculinity — responsibility, accountability, purpose, respect for self and others, empathy, godliness, and self-awareness.
By nurturing these values early, the Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation helps boys grow into men who contribute positively to their families, communities, and society.
This International Day of the Boy Child, we remain committed to raising better men by promoting good habits and attitudes today.
Parents, educators, coaches, and leaders — we all have a role to play in building a generation of strong, kind, and responsible men.

BEYOND THE PADS - MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2026
Menstrual health is too often reduced to just distributing pads. The reality is far more complex.

A girl can have pads but still lack dignity, battle low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, isolation, and deep stigma. In rural communities, many girls face menstruation with fear, shame, and unsafe materials — leading to missed school days, infections, and silent mental health struggles.

At Cope and Live Mental Health Awareness Foundation and UNTH Foundation, we address these issues through our TOTAL CARE MIND AND BODY OUTREACH, recognising that menstrual hygiene and mental health are inseparably linked. By including boys as allies in this outreach, they learn to protect and support girls instead of stigmatising them — as they are the brothers, future husbands and fathers.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, we go Beyond The Pads.
