"The Power of Emptying"
Palm Sunday Reflection
Today, we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry — riding not on a war horse, but on a humble donkey.
Crowds shouted, “Hosanna!” laying down their cloaks and palm branches, but here’s the deeper truth:
> Jesus came down, not to take, but to give.
He emptied Himself, so we could be filled ____~Rev. Fr Clement Apeior
This is the King of kings… stepping into Jerusalem not to be crowned by man, but to be crushed for man.
He gave up His glory to take our shame.
He gave up His position to offer us purpose.
He gave up His power… to empower us.
Sometimes, before you can be filled, you must first be emptied.
— Emptied of pride.
— Emptied of fear.
— Emptied of self-will.
— Emptied of the need to control your own story.
Jesus showed us a principle that unlocks destiny:
> The path to glory is paved in humility.
The way up begins with stepping down.
And just like Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey — lowly, yet destined — you may look ordinary now… but what you carry will change lives.
You’re not called to impress — you’re called to impact.
So here’s the prayer today:
> “Lord, empty me of me. Break my need to be seen. Strip away everything that blocks your flow in me.
Fill me with Your presence, Your power, and Your purpose — so I too can carry something holy into this world.”
Because just like Jesus…
When you choose to empty yourself,
God will fill you with something the world can’t ignore.
