*UNITED STATE AGENCY FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (USAID) TO PARTNER WITH ZAMFARA STATE CONTRIBUTORY HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT AGENCY (ZAMCHEMA)**

This was contained in a press realease issued by the media and communication officer of the agency Abbas Bello and made available to newsmen.

During the meeting, *USAID* promised to have all the necessary synergies with *ZAMCHEMA* for proper take_off of free healthcare service delivery scheme for the benefit of vulnerable people in the state.

However, Many contributions were made on the success recorded by the agency and challenges in accessing free quality healthcare.

The executive secretary, Zamfara state contributory healthcare management agency *ZAMCHEMA* Dr Abdulkadir Aliyu Shinkafi, Who was represented by the Director standard quality assurance of the agency Dr Iliya appreciated The United state agency for international development *USAID* for their support and cooperation.

Zamfara State Commissioner for Health Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar MC Danmasanin Tsafe says henceforth, Incharges of Primary Health Care facilities that are under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund must procure drugs and essential medicines at State Drugs and Consumables Management Agency DMA.

The Commissioner stated this today at a one-day engagement meeting with 147 Incharges of Primary Health Care, primary health care coordinators and other stakeholders on Basic Health Care Provision Fund organized by Zamfara State Contributory Health Care Management Agency ZAMCHEMA.

Hon. Aliyu Abubakar MC said the decision was meant to reflect the state and national guidelines of ensuring "Primary Health Care Under One Roof" PHCOUR and to checkmate the excesses attached to drugs and essential medicines transactions in the state.

"The ultimate goal behind this decision was to ensure only quality drugs and medicaments are sold or transacted" said Aliyu MC

The Danmasanin Tsafe added that the present administration of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun had accorded top concern on primary health care, hence the need for both health workers and community to strive hard to reciprocate the gesture through compliance with the health guidelines and other provisions as well as giving the needed support to the policies of the State and the service itself.

According to him, the State had recently recruited health workers at Hospital Services Management Board and Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura in addition to recruitment of community health workers across the fourteen LGAs by the State Primary Health Care Board.

He said any person found collecting money in the name of giving offer of appointment would be arrainged before the law to face the consequences of his action, pointing out that the recruitment was meant to touch the lives of disadvantaged ones in the society.

In a speech, Executive Secretary Zamfara State Contributory Health Care Management Agency Dr. Abdulkadir Aliyu Shinkafi said the goals behind the establishment of the Agency was to provide access to basic health care services to people at low cost while at the same time making the services free to vulnerable and less privileged.

Dr. Abdulkadir Aliyu further said the Agency and line stakeholders on Basic Health Care Provision Fund would not hesitate to take measures against any Incharge found wanting as regard to the conduct of his responsibility.

He said the Agency operates different components such as formal and informal sectors, organized community sector and TSHIP among others.

On his part, Executive Secretary Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board Dr. Isma'il Tukur gave clarification on how primary health care works with ZAMCHEMA and alerted the personnel on the obligations upon them concerning the programme.

During the meeting, Chairman Zamfara State Social Protection Platform Nasiru Usman Biyabiki, Chairman forum of local government PHC Coordinators Umar Aliyu Zurmi and representative of NHIA Zamfara State office presented goodwill messages.

DAY 3 OF ZAMCHEMA ADVOCACY AND SENSITIZATION VISITS TO GUMMI AND BUKKUYUM EMIRATES ZAMFARA STATE.

Today 17th February 2022, the visit took the ES/CEO to 2 Emirates of the western zone, Gummi and Bukkuyum.

At the palace of Emir of Gummi, the entourage was received on arrival by the Emir,His Royal Highness,Rtd Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi OFR.

The team lead,Dr Abdulƙadir Aliyu Barden Shinkafi, praised the role played by the Emirate in bridging the gap between the government at the state level and the governed at grassroot level.

He also stated that,his Agency is in his domain to seek for a working synergy for successfully implementation of the free Basic Healthcare Delivery under the BHCPF Scheme as part of government drive to bring healthcare delivery to the door step of the populace.

Under this arrangement, pregnant mothers, children under 5 years, elderly people and people with special needs are to be identified by the Emirate in the 11 political wards for Enrolment under the programme.

He also said a committee has been set up by the Agency to screen the selected persons prior to their Enrolment. He also expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to the team.

Responding,Emir of Gummi, Sarkin Mafara, Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi,gave assurance that, the scheme will be a reality in his domain.

He noted that, the programme conception and implementation would midwife the healthcare delivery at primary level through improvement of health facilities and catering of the healthcare needs of rural dwellers.

He promised to be a good ambassador of the scheme by partnering with the Agency.

While at Bukkuyum,Dr Abdulƙadir Aliyu Barden Shinkafi extended the same information to the Senior District Head who represented the Emir.

The Executive Secretary of Zamfara State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency Dr Abdulkadir Aliyu Shinkafi, has called on enrolled beneficiaries under BHCPF to go to their respective facilities and claim their free health care rights.

The agency boss made the announcement shortly after the flag-off of sensitization training on resource management to head of various primary healthcare facilities in Zamfara

He thanked Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, for establishing the agency, which has the mandate of providing affordable ,Accessible and free healthcare to the people of Zamfara state.

ZAMFARA STATE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY ATTENDS CONTRIBUTORY HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT AGENCIES CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS FORUM MEETING

The ES of Zamfara state Contributory Healthcare Management Agency Dr Abdul Kadir Shinkafi has joined his colleagues for quarterly Forum Meeting taking place in Abuja.

The meeting is discussing critical issues related to the ongoing implementation of Basic Healthcare provision Fund nationwide and also strategizing on how BHCPF will benefit the poor and vulnerable population across the country.

The meeting is also discussing plan for 2022 Capacity building of State Contributory Healthcare Management Agencies to improve States capacities in healthcare financing for attainment of UHC across all the states in Nigeria.

The meeting is expected to end Thursday 20th January 2022.
