There is a lecturer in a particular university that I know, who always insists that her project Supervisees use strictly British English when writing.

And when they don't, or forget to, she returns their work to them to correct or start afresh, then return.

It is after this, that it dawns on these students, that there is such a thing as British and American English differences and that it is important to note them.

We often mix them up a lot while speaking or writing, especially in this part of the world.

Infact, the only time some people know that there is a difference in spelling between the British 'PROGRAMME' and the American 'PROGRAM', is when they type it in a word document on a PC.

So check the slides for some common differences in spellings and vocabulary.

Meanwhile, which English do you naturally use — British or American? And why?
