It's a psychotropic substance that impacts the brain and can affect thoughts, mood, or behavior.
Globally, alcohol use is responsible for 320 deaths every hour, and the impact is more among those in the younger age group.

A large 2018 study indicated that any level of drinking is harmful. . Alcohol overuse also increases the of developing other conditions, including depression, cancer etc
It works by slowing down brain activity. An alcoholic may experience impaired judgment or slower reaction times
It may also lead to dehydration.
The percentage of alcohol varies depending on the type of beverage.
A standard beer may contain about 5% alcohol, whereas one portion of a distilled spirit could contain 40%.
When alcohol enters the body, most of it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the intestines. Blood, and therefore alcohol, is quickly distributed throughout the body and the brain.
This happens faster than the liver can metabolize and eliminate it.
Excessive alcohol use can cause:

Heart Diseases
Stroke
