Every 1st October is an opportunity for us at PriHEMAC to celebrate the International Day of the Older Persons. PriHEMAC has exemplified what intergenerational solidarity means, with a workforce that embraced the wisdom of the elderly, the vibrancy of adults, and the vigour of youth.

Why was this day so significant, you may ask? It was a day to honour the unsung heroes of our society, the elderly, and the dedicated caregivers who stand by their side. It was a day to shed light on the challenges that accompany ageing, from the haunting specter of Dementia to the frailty that sometimes feels inescapable. PriHEMAC had a message for the world: ageing is a collective challenge, and it's high time we all joined hands to find the solutions.

At the heart of this celebration, PriHEMAC took a moment to applaud their team of heroes. Physicians, nurses, public health experts, caregivers, and staff, each play a pivotal role in elevating the health and well-being of our cherished elderly population. Having provided home care to over 100 elderlies, trained over 400 caregivers, and empowered more than 50 faith-based organizations on how to meet their older persons' physical, mental, and social well-being.

But PriHEMAC's message wasn't just about their actions; it was about a shared responsibility. In their story, they reminded us that we should all be teaching the act of being elderly-friendly, of showing love, care, and support to those who once sacrificed their golden years to shape our lives. After all, as the golden rule suggests, we should treat others the way we want to be treated when we reach their age – with dignity, respect, and unwavering love.

In a world where the population is growing older, PriHEMAC's message becomes more crucial than ever. They highlighted the importance of preventing the impending burden on caregivers, families, and society. It matters how the Elderly are treated, live, and contribute to society. It's a reminder that we should all take to heart, because, in the end, it's not just about celebrating a single day but embracing a way of life that honours those who've journeyed further down the path of time.

So, as PriHEMAC's story reminds us, let's come together, hand in hand, to create a world where every older person's life is filled with love, respect, and purpose, today and every day. This is a tale worth sharing, a narrative that will echo through the ages, reminding us of our collective duty to ensure the well-being and happiness of our elderly population.
