World Water Day, 22 March 2021, with the theme, 'VALUING WATER', is about what water means to people, its true value and how we can better protect this vital resource.

Water means different things to different people. How is water important to your home and family life, your livelihood, your cultural practices, your wellbeing, your local environment?

Below are a few ideas for World Water Day that you can use in the classroom to educate children about the clean water crisis.

1. Teach a lesson on clean water and sanitation.
2. Watch a Water Documentary.
3. Create a water diary. Students can highlight and state details of their daily activities that involve water.
4. Take the Water Access Challenge. This can be aimed at teaching students to conserve water or avoid waste of water.
5. Create a Water Campaign.
6. Host a Clean Water Talk Show Activity.

It's World Oral Health Day!

This year, the theme for World Oral Health Day is 'Be Proud Of Your Mouth'. So, as the day is here, here are some tips to keep your child on track:

1. As preteens become more conscious of their appearance, it can be helpful to remind them that good oral care can help them look and feel better.

2. Remind your child to brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste for a full two minutes which not only fights cavities and strengthens teeth, but also gives older kids the confidence of having fresh breath. A power toothbrush might make brushing more fun for preteens.

3. Flossing is extremely important at this point as most permanent teeth have erupted and cleaning between them will help prevent cavities and keep their mouth fresh.

4. Encourage children who play sports to wear a mouth guard to protect their teeth from injuries.

5. Make sure kids who wear braces use a power brush and floss very thoroughly to avoid white spots on teeth when braces come off.

2020 World Toilet Day - November 19 is an opportunity for us to raise awareness of the crucial role that sanitation plays in reducing disease & creating healthier communities.

We also believe that everyone should be able to have access to toilets in a bid to promote proper sanitation.
