Episode 2: The Desperate Dash

Mom’s plea echoed behind me as I slipped into the biting wind, clutching Grandpa’s silver watch—our last hope. The pawn shop was blocks away, but the landlord wouldn't wait for "someday."

I took the shortcut through the frozen alley, my boots crunching on thin ice.

Suddenly, two silhouettes stepped from the darkness, blocking both exits. My heart hammered against my ribs; the watch was the only thing standing between us and the street.

As they moved closer, eyes glinting in the dim light, I realized there was nowhere to run. Could I protect our only chance at survival, or was everything about to be snatched away?

Episode 3 The Zakat Fund(Final)

Yusuf stood frozen, the financial documents heavy in his hand. Fahim, kneeling by the empty Zakat box, looked terrified.

YUSUF: (Hushed) You're wiring money offshore, Fahim. Is the Zakat covering a loan? Confess before I call the police!

FAHIM: (Voice shaking) I swear the transfers are for my sick mother’s chemotherapy overseas. Not gambling. The $5,000 Zakat... it wasn't me. It would only cover two weeks of her treatment. I would never steal from the poor to save her life.

Yusuf saw the truth: Fahim was guilty of secrecy, not theft. If Fahim and Aisha were innocent, only one suspect remained.

The next morning, Yusuf met Omar, the quiet bookkeeper, in a sterile coffee shop.

YUSUF: Omar, the $5,000 Zakat money was never logged as a withdrawal. It was never in the Zakat account.

OMAR: (Calmly stirring his coffee) Impossible. Fahim deposited the cash last Friday. It must have been stolen after the deposit.

YUSUF: (Leaning in) The envelope was empty. But it had a security tracker I installed months ago. The tag triggered only when it was placed in the box.

Omar’s hand stopped stirring. He finally looked up.

YUSUF: You are the only one with access to the security logs. You knew the Zakat account setup wasn't finalized. You stole it before it was officially the fund. You saw the trust and exploited it.

Omar finally broke, the composure cracking into a smirk.

OMAR: (Coldly) $5,000 is nothing to you. I needed it. And I wrote that email: "The true thief is the one who neglects their debt." A perfect gift of misdirection. I knew you’d chase Fahim’s secrets.

YUSUF: (Standing up) The Amanah (Trust) you broke is worth far more.

OMAR: (Triumphantly) Maybe. But the money is gone.

A server approached, placing a receipt in front of Omar.

SERVER: Excuse me, sir. Your card was declined. The bank has frozen your account due to a large, immediate, unusual withdrawal.

Omar’s face went white.

YUSUF: (Smiling gently) The money is safe, Omar. Fahim has an offshore account, but I have a Zakat Fraud Tracker set up with the bank. When you deposited the money into your personal account, the bank flagged those Zakat funds as suspicious and froze them instantly.

YUSUF:Allah's accounting is always perfect. The Zakat funds are safe, and so is the truth.
