Bread Making at home
Recipe;
🥪 550g (3½ cups) flour
🥪 3½ TSP active dry yeast
🥪 1½ TSP salt
🥪 4Tbsp Veg. Oil
🥪 70g (⅓ cup) sugar
🥪 150ml milk/ ⅓ cup dry milk
🥪 80ml water
🥪 Flavour of your choice ( optional) 1½ TSP
🥪 Nutmeg (optional)
Procedure;
🥪 In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients ( flour, salt, nutmeg, sugar, milk ( if you are using powdered milk)
🥪 Heat your water to become warm (must not be too cold or hot, you can test with the tip of your finger)
🥪 In another bowl, mix the lukewarm water with 1tsp sugar and yeast, let it sit for 5-10 mint. Until it become frothy
🥪 Make a hollow in the centre of the mixed flour, add the yeast mixture, veg. Oil& milk ( if using liquid milk) flavour, mix all together to form a dough
🥪 Turn the dough into a floured flat surface to knead for about 10 mint. Until smooth and elastic
🥪 Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean napkin and place in a warm place ( inside cupboard or unheated oven) for about 1½ -2 hours or until it doubled in size
🥪 Place on the flat surface again, punch down the dough & knead again for about 5 mint.
🥪 Cut it into a shape of your choice or into sizes of your choice, put them in a greased loaf pan
🥪 Cover with napkin the second time for another an hour to double in size
🥪 Place in a preheated oven and bake for 25 mint. Or until the top is golden brown
🥪 N:B. Make sure you use active yeast
🥪 If you do not have loaf pan, make use of baking pan or pot🥪 The sizes of your dough, must not be bigger than pan,
🥪 You can add coconut flakes or dry fruits to spice it up.
