Dear patient, truthfulness in communication helps us serve you better.

Your eyes can tell a story, but we still need your words to give you the best care.

If you were involved in domestic violence, please let us know.
Not to judge you but to protect your sight and provide the right treatment.

Some eye injuries don’t start with pain, yet can lead to permanent damage if the cause is hidden.

The same applies if you have,
• A recent fall or head injury at home or work
• A sports-related eye injury or something hit your eye accidentally.

Your honesty helps us diagnose accurately, treat promptly, and prevent complications.

We are here to care, not to condemn.
Your vision matters and so does your truth.

Owambe ready? Shine, but don’t risk your eyes!

It’s Saturday, and we know many faces are getting beat to perfection for one party or the other.
But before you blend that eyeshadow or apply that sharp winged liner, pause for a second…

That Old mascara you've been using since the last Detty December can cause Irritated red eyes.

It still gives beautiful look, yes… but your eyes will pay the price.

So before you step out and scatter the dance floor today, remember these eye-safe glam tips:
▪︎ Replace your mascara and liquid liners every 3–6 months
▪︎ Don’t share eye makeup, even with your bestie
▪︎ Clean your brushes (please, not once a year)
▪︎ If it smells funny, clumps, or irritates… throw it away

⚠️ And no matter how tired you are after the party, remove your makeup before bed

Enjoy your owambe, take pictures, catch cruise and let your eyes enjoy the day too.

If you notice redness or irritation after today’s glam, Meridian Eye Clinic, Ilorin is open for you.

We don’t talk about this enough…

Our elderly loved ones at home NEED regular eye check-ups.

Many of them can’t see as clearly as they used to, but they won’t complain.
They’ll squint through blurry words, miss steps, or strain to recognize faces, all because they don’t want to “disturb” anyone.

But vision changes with age, and conditions like cataract, glaucoma, and macular degeneration often show no early symptoms.

A simple eye exam can prevent avoidable blindness and improve their quality of life.

So this weekend,
check on them.
Ask how their eyes feel.
Book an appointment for them with us using the link on our bio

Because caring for their eyes is another way of saying, “I love you, and I want you here for long.”

“Doctor, what’s really the difference between Blue-cut lenses and Photochromic lenses?”

I get frequently asked this question and it has led to such a meaningful conversation that I felt you might need the clarity too.
▪︎
Now, listen;

Blue-cut lenses are your screen bodyguards.
If you spend long hours on phones or laptops, they help reduce digital eye strain, headaches, and that tired, gritty feeling after screen time.

Then, photochromic lenses are your sun-responsive friends.
They stay clear indoors and automatically darken outside, giving you smooth UV protection without switching to sunglasses.

So, what's the simple difference?
Blue-cut protects you from screens, Photochromic protects you from the sun.

Did you get that?
▪︎
But now, this is the most interesting part?

There are lenses that combine both features.
They have blue-light filtering (Blue Cut) + photochromic (light-adaptive) properties.

These lenses give dual protection, helping with screen use and automatically darkening in sunlight.

These means that you can have both screen-time protection & sunlight/UV protection with one pair.

Isn't this goodnews?
▪︎
Yes, we have all lens types available, and delivery is nationwide.

A New Month Subtle Reminder to Help You Stay Productive
▪︎
Your eyes.

Those two little heroes that follow you everywhere, from your daily activities to your late-night scrolling.

The funny thing is, our eyes hardly ever complain loudly. They whisper; Blurry vision, headaches, itching, or sudden discomfort.

Funnily enough, most serious eye conditions started quietly.
Just slow changes you may not notice until it becomes serious.
▪︎
Let this be a reminder today to check your eyes.
Don’t wait for symptoms.
Prevention is cheaper than treatment.

So, before life gets busy again this month, please check your eyes. Not because something is wrong, but because you want to keep them healthy for a long, long time.

And if you’re wondering what we can help you with, here are some list of what we do in the clinic everyday:

▪︎ Full Eye Examination
▪︎ Prescription of Glasses (for adults & kids)
▪︎ Dry Eye Care
▪︎ Treatment of Red/Itchy Eyes & Infections
▪︎ Glaucoma & Cataract Screening
▪︎ Pre & Post Surgery Eye Care
▪︎ Vision Check for Students & Workers
▪︎ Eye Health Education (the little habits that make a big difference)

We’re here to help you see life clearly, comfortably, and confidently.

If your eyes have been whispering lately… come in.
We will listen for you.

A simple question from my patient humbled me deeply last week.

So, I performed a cataract surgery on a man last week.
He returned with his wife the next day for his bandage removal.

After the clean up, he looked around, surprised at how clearly he could see.

Without hesitation, he asked, “Doctor, wasn’t it the two eyes that was supposed to be operated on?”

I smiled and told him "No, just one". The other cataract is still immature.

▪︎
Honestly, that question has stayed with me because it could only come from a satisfied patient.

I’m sharing this beautiful moment to remind you that your eyes are safe with us.

At Meridian Eye Clinic, we are committed to excellent, compassionate, and professional eye care backed by experience and the grace of God.

▪︎
Over the years, we’ve successfully carried out;
▪︎ Cataract surgeries
▪︎Pterygium excisions
▪︎ Chalazion removals
▪︎ Glaucoma procedures
▪︎ Eyelid surgeries and more

Each with encouraging feedbacks that has kept me committed and sturdy to this profession.

Your vision is precious, and we count it a privilege to help you see clearly again.

During our just-concluded November Free Eye Screening, I observed many people, especially youths, are dealing with dry eye disease.

They complained of burning or gritty sensations, but most didn’t even realize their daily habits were the root cause.

▪︎ Prolonged screen time
▪︎ Reduced blinking
▪︎ Dehydration
▪︎ Dusty or smoky environments
▪︎ Long hours in air-conditioned spaces
▪︎ Irregular sleep patterns etc

These and more are the major causes of dry eye disease

But the good news is this.
Dry eye can be managed effectively and here are simple, doctor-approved steps:

▪︎ Stay hydrated
▪︎ Follow the 20-20-20 screen rule
▪︎ Blink often
▪︎ Use lubricating eye drops (as prescribed)
▪︎ Avoid dust and smoke
▪︎ Get adequate sleep
▪︎ Use a humidifier in dry rooms
▪︎ Eat omega-3 rich foods
▪︎ Avoid rubbing your eyes
And most importantly, Schedule regular eye checkups with Meridian Eye Clinic, Ilorin

Your eyes serve you every day
Please care for them intentionally.
