GROUNDING, EARTHING and WALKING BAREFOOT
For the past four months, I have been encouraging my followers to walk barefoot at least on Sunday for 1 hour.
Others say "Am a weird, mad man."
I reflected on my childhood and how 30 years ago, walking barefoot was a normal experience. Nowadays when I walk barefoot, onlookers are bewildered!
Our feet were tough and adapted to the rough ground terrain.
I have also noticed that children refuse to wear shoes. This is a natural evolutionary instinct which reveals that our feet were not meant to be in shoes.
But isn't it ridiculous that modern parents force their three-month-old babies to wear shoes?
One of the misplaced reasons which parents give is that walking barefoot will infect their babies with pneumonia! This is unbelievable coming from people who sat in a Biology class and got As and Bs.
However, why is it beneficial to walk barefoot?
Let me begin with electricity.
If you sat in a class of physics, I am certain you were taught a topic known as 'electricity'.
There is something known as ELECTRICAL GROUNDING.
Electrical appliances have electrons that are always being discharged. These electrons are negatively charged. If these electrons become excessively charged, they can cause damage to the appliances and this will lead to an electrical fault.
So, electricians make something known as 'earth wire'. This earth wire is a metal rod that allows excess electrons to escape from the appliance and travel to the earth to be neutralized there. This escape maintains an equilibrium between electrons and protons hence safeguarding the electrical appliance.
The same phenomenon happens in our bodies. Our bodies are divided into three layers
- Macroscopic
- Microscopic
- Molecular
Macroscopic is the layer we see with with our naked eyes (head, skin, muscles, liver, intestines etc)
The microscopic layer is what we see through our laboratories eg tissues, cells and microorganisms
The molecular layer is even deeper. It is about molecules, atoms, protons, electrons and neutrons in the body.
Our body is made up of billions and billions and billions of atoms.
99% of the atoms in the body are Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen and Nitrogen. The rest of the atoms are like Calcium, Sodium, Phosphorus etc.
These atoms are made up of protons, neutrons and electrons.
Electrons are negatively charged and occupy the outer shell of the atom. If the atom does not attract enough electrons, it becomes unstable and hence we call it a FREE RADICAL.
SEED OILS, SUGAR, ALCOHOL and synthetic nutrients are responsible for destabilizing the atoms in the body by stealing the extra electron on the outer shells of atoms.
Free radicals are dangerous because they begin looking for other atoms to form covalent bonds and this reaction ends up being harmful to the cells.
This harm is known as OXIDATIVE STRESS.
Oxidative stress leads to chronic inflammation and eventually metabolic ailments, autoimmune diseases and cancer.
I am sure you've heard of ANTI-OXIDANTS. These are electrons found in food that deliver electrons in order to stablize the unstable, dangerous atoms known as radicals.
An example of a free radical is ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species) which is highly dangerous to the mitochondria and was responsible for the COVID19 deaths in people with metabolic diseases.
But how is grounding or walking barefoot important?
Wearing shoes with insulating soles and/or sleeping in beds that are isolated from the electrical ground plane of the earth have disconnected most people from the earth's electrical rhythms and free electrons.
When atoms are unstable, they crave for electrons.
Connecting yourself with the earth eg
-Walking barefoot
- Sleeping on the floor
- Hugging trees
- Swimming in the rivers or lakes,
allows electrons to flow from the earth to the body in order to stabilize the harmful atoms.
So, walk barefoot regulary in order to neutralize the free radicals roaming dangerously in your body.
