TREATMENT OF CHRONIC TYPHOID FEVER

Preparation of Crude Drug:
The stem bark is collected from mature plants, cleaned, and air-dried at room temperature under shade to preserve thermo-labile constituents. The dried bark is then pulverised using a mechanical grinder, and the resulting material is passed through a fine mesh sieve to obtain a uniform powdered drug.
Method of Administration:
A measured quantity (1 tablespoon) of the sieved bark powder is introduced into a glass containing freshly boiled water. The mixture is allowed to cool to room temperature, then stirred to ensure complete dispersion of the powder. The preparation is administered orally on an empty stomach.
Dosage and Restrictions:
Following administration, the patient should abstain from food and drink for a minimum of 6 hours to enhance absorption and therapeutic effect.
Traditional Indication:
Used in for the management of chronic typhoid fever.
