VOTE AND PRAY.

Alas! Those who ought to be facilitators of the will of God have become spectators in the political game going on in Nigeria. Rough play!

That you abandoned your duty post of intercession does not mean that the wicked abandoned their duty to do evil.
Get up and pray. Pray fervently, church. Salvation lies not in the court of men but in the court of our God.
People of God, it is time to pray.
Oh ye that watch over Jerusalem, give yourself no rest (and give God no rest).
"I sought for a man (an intercessor) and found none ...and Jerusalem was destroyed."
God forbid!

INEC fixes dates for distribution of PVCs

By Hosea parah

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Monday 12 December to Sunday 22 January 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all the 774 Local Government offices of the commission throughout the Federation.

In a statement issued on Friday by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voters Education Committee, Festus Okoye, 2nd December 2022 in Abuja.

Okoye explained that the Commission met on Thursday and deliberated on a number of issues, including the dates for the collection of permanent Voters Card(PVCs) nationwide.

"It will be recalled that the Commission held a retreat in Lagos with all the administrative secretaries and Resident Electoral Commission (RECs) from 36 states of the Federation and Federal Capital Territory from 28th November to 2nd December 2022"

He stated that at the retreat, the Commission finalised the procedure as well as the timetable for collection of PVCs.

The Commission also resolved to devolve PVC collection to the 8,809 Registration areas/wards from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th January 2023.

Okoye said, that those that are unable to collect their PVCs at the Local Government offices of the commission can do so at the Registration Areas/Electoral Wards.

He said, after the 15th of January 2023, the exercise will revert to the Local Government offices of the commission until 22nd January 2023

"All eligible and valid registrants can collect their PVCs from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily, including Saturdays and Sunday"

Okoye further said, all the RECs and Electoral Officers (EOs) have been directed to convene a meeting with the critical Stakeholders in their States and Local Government Areas, including traditional and religions leaders, civil society groups, community-based Organizations and the media to brief them on the modalities for the collection of the PVCs in order to sensitise the public and to ensure perfect exercise.

Similarly, RECs and EOs have also been directed to set up desks to assist registrants with complaints about their PVCs or with the PVC collection procedure for immediate redress.

He added that, the Commission appreciate the patience and understanding of Nigerians, especially those who registered as voters or applied for transfer/replacement of their Cards from January to July 2022.

"In making the Card available for collection, the Commission is also working to ensure that the process is simply and hitch free for Nigerians
