HOW YOU SHOULD KNOW IF YOU HAVE MALARIA PARASITE
To know if you have malaria parasites, here are some common signs you should look out for and confirm with a proper medical test to be sure it's malaria parasite.
SYMPTOMS OF MALARIA
You begin to notice some typical signs that usually appears 10–15 days after a mosquito bite. Here are signs
✍️ Sudden fever that comes and goes in cycles
✍️ Chills and shivering
✍️ Sweating after fever breaks
✍️ Headache
✍️ Muscle and joint pains
✍️ Nausea and vomiting
✍️ Tiredness and weakness
✍️ Loss of appetite
IF CASE OR CONDITION BECOMES WORSE OR SEVERE - The patient may begin to experience:
✍️ Yellowing of the eyes (jaundice)
✍️ Difficulty breathing
✍️ Confusion or convulsions
✍️ Severe anemia (weakness, dizziness, pale skin)
TO BE MEDICALLY DIAGNOSED
The signs symptoms alone cannot indicate or confirm malaria parasite present because the signs and symptoms comes like those typhoid, other infections. The best you should do is by going for blood test
📌A Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) - Quick finger-prick blood test will be carried out
📌 A Microscopy (Blood Smear Test) - A gold standard Testing — will indicate malaria parasites present in your blood.
NOTE - Don’t rely on symptoms alone. Always do a test before starting treatment, because taking malaria drugs unnecessarily can be harmful.
