Cleaning and washing clothes are chores we do everyday. I have actually been doing research into laundry detergents and cleaners that are commonly used, and what I found was shocking!
The chemicals that are put into laundry detergent alone makes you cringe. A common additive in laundry detergent and household cleaners is a by-product called 1,4 Dioxane. It's carcinogenic, but also disrupts your central nervous system, brains and hormones. It's in 2/3 of laundry products. It makes me wonder if my MS wasn't contributed by the laundry detergent my Mother used.
Laundry detergents do not rinse out entirely from clothes so when you sweat your body absorbs it. Your G.I. tract, lungs, and skin are highly susceptible..
1,4 Dioxane can also be found in shampoos, lotions, baby products and products listed as organic.
Another chemical that can be found in laundry detergents is Nonylphenol Ethoxylate or NPE. It's an endocrine disrupter lowers s***m count, decreases testicular growth, damages kidneys and liver and in crease mortality. It has a nickname- gender bender. When trout in rivers were exposed to NPE, they developed both male and female body parts! It can also be found in all purpose cleaners.
Spray cleaners, especially ones for mold and mildew, decreases lung function and also increases the risk for breast cancer. It also increases your risk for asthma.
Disheartening isn't it? But there is something you can do.
Change your laundry detergent! If that's the only thing you do. NeoLife's super 10 and LDC Concentrate rinses from your clothes entirely, leaving no residue and doesn't contain any of the aforementioned chemicals. It's non toxic and eco-friendly as are all of NeoLife's cleaners.
Since I have made the switch, I breathe easier, feel cleaner, and just have confidence that my family isn’t exposed to more toxins than need be.
