LSPHCB Hosts Stakeholders Engagement Meeting in October Integrated SIAs

The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board Technical Working Group on the State Immunization Campaign, convened today at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Alausa-Ikeja for a Stakeholders Engagement Meeting focused on the October Integrated Supplementary Immunization Activities (SIAs).

The meeting was led by the Supervising Permanent Secretary; Dr. Abimbola Bowale. Key partners and representatives from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) were in attendance, including the Lagos Ministry of Education (LMoE), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), the Association of Nigerian Catholic Schools, and numerous school administrators and health teachers from local government areas and education districts across Lagos State.

Discussions emphasized the critical role of vaccinations in preventing vaccine-preventable diseases and achieving herd immunity. Participants explored strategies to build trust among parents and caregivers, encouraging positive responses to informed consent forms necessary for vaccination initiatives.

The collaborative efforts aim to enhance community engagement and ensure the success of the upcoming vaccination campaigns, ultimately safeguarding the health of children in Lagos State.
