This is one of the reasons why we urge mothers to allow their babies to be treated for jaundice at the hospital if discovered after birth when they are still at the hospital.

It’s the aftermath effect that we are trying to avoid. But some mothers will argue that nothing is wrong with their child.

Hepatitis and all you need to know.

Hepatitis is a disease that affects the liver. It is an inflammation of the liver.

There are different types; Hepatitis A, B, C, D & E. Hepatitis A, D & E are less common and non-infectious. They are gotten through contaminated food and water.

Let's on talk about Hepatitis B which is the most common and highly infectious. It's a viral infection, and can be gotten through contact with infected blood, semen, v@gina and other body fluids.

It's not only through sexual contact that one get infected, one can be infected through contact with the saliva or sweat of an infected person, so long there's a port of entry.

One of the prominent signs of hepatitis B is jaundice, that's the yellowing of the eyes and skin. The stool color will become pale, the urine becomes dark or kinda brown in colour. The person would also experience lack of appetite, weight loss, tiredness and abdominal pain. Those are the signs and symptoms.

The major way to avoid contracting this disease, aside practicing safe segz is by getting vaccinated. Before one takes the vaccine, a test would be done to ensure that the person is negative, after which the vaccine would be given.

In a situation whereby the person is positive, the viral load test would be done and treatment would be commenced.

And lastly, hepatitis B is not curable but can be managed to an extent that the viral load becomes insignificant.

Now you that have known all these, kindly share to help someone else.
